I went looking for my usual Monday morning fodder on the Seattle Times editorial page, only to be confronted with these headlines from the Times’ home page:

Huh. I suppose that’s one way to deal with the Nightmare on Fairview. If only it were that easy.

    I knew it! The purges have begun! I wonder which story will be next to board the one-way train to the gulag?

    Maybe the Times should offer their purging services to the Spokesman Review which has become a mouthpiece for the regurgitation of standard GOP talking lies by the local District 5 Congresswoman. It would be one thing if she simply plagiarized material, but she (or more likely her aides and staff) cut and paste wholesale swaths of WSJ op-eds and RNC talking points into the weekly newsletters which get abstracted into the SR as quotes from her idiotness. Latest today:

    “The most interesting non-answer came from Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), who happens to be the Vice-Chair of the House Republican Conference — the fourth-highest position in the leadership — and also gave the Republican YouTube address this past weekend. ‘We’re all going to find out,’ said McMorris Rodgers. When asked again, she said: ‘Oh, I’d like to see the documents.’”

    She is the epitome of a wingnut, idiot, talking head fembot.

    Okay, a little Google search refreshed my memory. That little gem was from the Ron Ziegler, press secretary for Richard Nixon during the Watergate investigations.
