Mouthing off to cops isn’t justification for them to point rifles at your face or to threaten to murder you. We’re told these people are professionals… yet they act like puffed up teenagers with deadly toys.
@2 Any cop waving an assault rifle at unarmed citizens who tells a citizen to “go fuck yourself” when asked to identify himself needs to be relieved and sent away from the scene immediately. That cop is too emotionally involved and hyper to be trusted with deadly force. He is a danger to the crowd and should not be there.
Is this video from when the local-yokel city PD was still in charge, or is that one of the state troopers that has since taken over? I don’t know their uniforms
@1: I expect that all cops are trained with the expectation that they will meet people trying to cause problems, and to handle the situation calmly and professionally. That’s why they are highly paid professionals.
Any cop who can let an unruly crowd needle and harass him into this kind of behavior is absolutely unqualified for the job and should be fired/demoted immediately.
Breaking News: Cop In Video Was Removed And Suspended
CBS News reported tonight “a county police sergeant took immediate action, telling the officer to lower the weapon and escorting him from the area. The officer was suspended indefinitely.” The officer hasn’t been identified other than he is from the St. Ann Police Department, a town near Ferguson.

Roger Rabbit Commentary: Apparently what I said @4 was done. This is a welcome development. The public needs to know, and above all cops need to know, that police supervisors have their personnel under control and unprofessional and threatening cop behavior won’t be tolerated and will prompt immediate remedial action.
