Tonight on “The David Goldstein Show”, 7PM to 10PM on News/Talk 710-KIRO:
7PM: Is President Bush coming to town to raise money for the Democrats?
President Bush is coming to Bellevue tomorrow for a high-dollar fundraiser for Dave Reichert, but there’s a good chance he could end up raising more money for Democratic challenger Darcy Burner than for the Republican incumbent. Burner will be in the studio with me to talk about her Virtual Town Hall on Iraq she’ll be holding tomorrow, just down the street from the President, and the $100,000 netroots fundraiser that’s been organized around. Panel moderator and Daily Kos front page blogger Joan McCarter will join us be phone, as will retired Major General Paul Eaton.
8PM: Primary wrap-up; general election preview
Democratic consultant Christian Sinderman and Republican consultant and former WA State GOP chair Chris Vance join me by phone for wrap up on Tuesdays primary and a look forward to the November general election. Will the Republicans continue their slide? Will voters approve roads and transit? Tune in and ask the experts.
9PM: TBA
Tune in tonight (or listen to the live stream) and give me a call: 1-877-710-KIRO (5476).
PROGRAMMING NOTE:
My show will be preempted again by a Seahawks preseason game next Saturday.
Scott Olson spews:
Goldy…there isn’t a Seahawks game next Saturday!
SeattleJew spews:
Goldy .. howsa about announcing the interim level of fund raising?
ratcityreprobate spews:
Goldy, the King County Elections Dept. web site continues to show more votes for Satterburg than people selecting the Republican ballot. That cannot be, as only people identifying themselves as republicans could vote for Satterburg. Cross party voting is out now.

Everyone needs to read this. Point out corruption and fraud in Iraq, and the US Government comes after you. A MSNBC article. I guess when they say free market they mean it.

Roger Rabbit spews:
Isn’t it illegal to donate more than $2,000 to a candidate? Didn’t some Democrat just get charged for that? Everyone who attends the Bush/Reichert $10,000-a-nose fundraiser is a criminal!
Roger Rabbit spews:
“Will the Republicans continue their slide?”
Do rabbits shit in the park?
Roger Rabbit spews:
I think you should use your 9 PM slot to talk about the NBA fining a Sonics co-owner $250,000 for admitting to a newspaper that the new owners planned all along to move the team to Oklahoma.
Roger Rabbit spews:
Or … how about using the 9 PM slot to talk about CHEAP LABOR CONSERVATIVES? A story in the fishwrapper gives us a preview of what a Mike McGavick economy would look like:
“Immigrant laborers rebelling against low wages
“By Anthony Faiola
“The Washington Post
“NEW YORK — The deliverymen of Saigon Grill labored for years at the bottom of Manhattan’s food chain. … Then they surprised their bosses … by serving up … a revolt.
The 30 men — all immigrants … frustrated with … poor conditions and low wages … banded together … to unionize. They demanded an end to … salaries less than half the minimum wage and to … $20 fines for late deliveries and $50 for shutting the restaurant’s glass doors with a bang.
“Saigon Grill’s owner fired them. … With the help of local groups … the men filed a lawsuit …. Hundreds of deliverymen, waiters, cooks and busboys from across New York have joined their picket lines.
“Angry deliverymen have slapped at least five other New York restaurants with similar lawsuits. Immigrants working in other types of restaurant jobs have filed several more ….
“The deliverymen said that the restaurant’s owner … offered to increase wages from $1.60 to $4 an hour, but only if they dropped their unionization bid. When they refused, … he fired them. … In a letter to customers, he said the deliverymen were trying to ‘extort’ him and called their demonstrations ‘outrageous.'”

Roger Rabbit Commentary: Goldy, why don’t you spent the 9-10 PM hour talking about how the OWNER CLASS thinks asking for wages of more than $1.60 an hour is “extortion” and “outrageous”? This incident demonstrates, as nothing else can, why we need government regulation of employers.
Another fucking failure of the laissez faire system!
Harvey spews:
The Shark segment was good radio. I think you oought to do it again.
Roger Rabbit spews:
Although that story took place in New York, the greed and hubris of the OWNER CLASS reaches from coast to coast … GOP candidate Mike McGavick thought waitresses should be paid $2.13 an hour — and their bosses should get the tips!!
At the wage McGavick wants to let employers pay, a person working 12 hours a day, 6 days a week, would make $664 a month … before taxes. That doesn’t even pay rent.
What CHEAP LABOR CONSERVATIVES want, of course, is for taxpayers to subsidize the cost of labor — so they can make more profit! And — they don’t want to pay taxes! They want workers to pay all the taxes! Consequently, a $2.13 an hour waitress would have to pay more than she earns in federal taxes just to pay for her food stamps, earned income credit, and other federal subsidies — so her employer can get her labor for free!
Conservatives have no shame. No morals, either. They’re all fucking thieves.

3 “ratcityreprobate says: Goldy, the King County Elections Dept. web site continues to show more votes for Satterburg than people selecting the Republican ballot. That cannot be, as only people identifying themselves as republicans could vote for Satterburg. Cross party voting is out now.”
There’s a simple explanation. Pollworkers were instructed in training for this month’s primary that voters didn’t have to designate a party, and if they didn’t, votes in partisan races would be counted so long as they only voted for candidates of one party. So, people who didn’t mark the “Republican” box could still vote for Satterberg provided they didn’t vote for any Democrats.

Roger Rabbit spews:
@6 Don’t keep us in suspense! What did he say! Did he threaten to sue Goldy? Did he threaten to sue Green Lake Park’s indigenous fauna?
Roger Rabbit spews:
@13 I hope Goldy has a tape of it that he can play over and over.
SeattleJew spews:
@18 RR
I think all this stuff is taped. But, to what depths can our boy sink? This reminded me of a BillO segment or maybe the Colbert Report.
ArtFart spews:
9 Maybe Gonzales told ’em he thinks it’s OK.
Richard Pope spews:
Roger Rabbit @ 9
I think Reichert can get $2,000 or so for each election, maybe even $2,100. So it is at least $4,000 at this point (with half of the maximum required to be banked until after the primary).
I read somewhere this is a “joint fundraiser”. There is some committee which takes the money, and will distribute it to Reichert until the particular donor is “maxed” out. The remainder goes to the Washington State Republican Party, or perhaps to buy wine for local incumbent Republican officials …

And you pelletize this blog daily with pithy commentary. Did you finally figure out the Moonbat!s of Cuyahoga County, Ohio or the meaning of “IF” yet?
ratcityreprobate spews:
@15 Thanks for the explanation Roger.
