Nothing up on the SurveyUSA website yet, but the word is that their latest poll has Democratic challenger Jeff Merkley leading Republican incumbant Sen. Gordon Smith, 49-42. This would be a huge pick-up for the Democrats, in race that most experts considered to be a longshot just 10 months ago.

This is great news and continues Merkley’s big mo. Clean out the Repubs.
Oh, and Sen. Stevens is guilty on all seven counts, latest Repub crony to fall. This will help Merkley. I could almost feel for Smith, he is a decent guy as repubs go, but its time to sweep the rubbish out.
And for Rasmussen watchers, a very conservative but fair pollster (auto dial, not perfect, but I think its an improving technology), note that at 3 PM our time today, we get updates on Prez trackers in six battleground states.
