Sandeep Kaushik, Darcy Burner’s communications director, was rushed to the emergency room this morning with what turned out to be a sizeable kidney stone… a non-life threatening, yet extremely painful condition. His primary responsibility being interacting with our local media, Sandeep has perhaps the most stressful job in the Burner campaign, and I suppose this is what comes from a steady diet of cigarettes and Maker’s Mark.
Of course, as far as the ill health effects of stressful campaign work goes, I suppose it could be worse.
Get well soon, Sandeep, and remember, like the election, this too shall pass.

Sigh… Mark my words. I can see it now.
This tragic death of Terence Tolbert will be the new “Vince Foster” or at the very least just one victim of the “Obama Death Squads”.
Sooner or later it’s going to happen. It’s how the wingnut mind works.

Nah, the wingnuts are going to say he planned this suicide out of devotion to the “Messiah” in an attempt to garner the sympathy vote.
My condolences to Mr. Tolbert’s family and friends. 44 is way too young to die from a heart attack.
YellowPup spews:
My sympathies to Sandeep. The treatments for sizable stones are not appealing at all.
Diet and dehydration are two big factors, toss in stress and stuff like this happens. Best wishes.

Darcy was sure ill-advised this past week and a half, and it may cost her. A mole hill turned into a mountain.
Her situation could have been defused if she had said the following: “In the moment, I misspoke about my credential. I have a degree in computer science with a concentration in economics from Harvard. I took five courses in economics and two in math.”
Mike Shields spews:
Speaking for the Reichert campaign – we all wish Sandeep a speedy recovery. A kidney stone is not fun – and it’s unfortunate to fall ill on election day. Politics aside – please get a message to Sandeep from us: get well soon.
ArtFart spews:
OUCH!! I can testify from experience, that’s no fun at all.
Brought on by smokes and booze? Nah…more likely asparagus and broccoli.

My Dad had gallstones requiring surgery. But he had to go off the blood thinner for surgery, and shortly after the surgery developed a blood clot in his leg, ultimately resulting in amputation. He died six months later, at age 45, from further complications.
So I don’t consider anything medical a “routine proceedure”. My best wishes to him.
Darryl spews:
So…one way or the other, Sandeep is going to have a PASSED(!) celebration soon.
Let’s hope for two good reasons.
Mr. Cynical spews:
OUCH!
Mr. Cynical spews:
Sandeep needs to stop shopping at the f*cking Co-op. Those hairy-legged broads pushing the following are trying to kill him!

Rugby gave me my first kidney stone experience. A hard tackle delivered by Valley Kangaroos RFC of Burien took me out of bounds (but not before the referee ruled that the tackle had made me lose the ball forward – a no-no in rugby called a knock-on – adding insult to injury), and three hours later I was on the floor in a bathroom stall in Ikea in utter agony. Six hours later, my wife finally agreed with me that it wasn’t my back, and a trip to St. Pete’s in Olympia confirmed a 2mm distal stone. Not much of a stone, but those of us who’ve enjoyed that kind of pain know that little things like that can cause big hurts (with apologies to Frank Thomas).
My sympathies go out to Sandeep, and kudos to Mike for the well-wishes.
