I’m proud to have been able to cast a vote for NY Governor Mario Cuomo in 1990, and will forever regret that I never had the chance to cast a vote for him as president. He was one of our nation’s most inspiring orators, and one of the last of a generation of great statesmen.
bluesky spews:
Yeah, well, Obama is a great orator, too. So much for that. I no longer put any stock in a politician with superb oratory skills, unless there is something tangible to back up those golden thoughts and words. They don’t necessarily go together.
Roger Rabbit spews:
@1 Well, let’s see …
“Our economy is experiencing its fastest pace of growth in over a decade. The GDP rose to 5.0% in the third quarter of this year, and the deficit has been cut by two-thirds under President Obama.
“We are in the longest stretch of private sector job growth on record, with nearly 11 million jobs added over 57 straight months.”
“2014 has been the strongest year for job growth since 1999.”
“The United States is now the world’s number one producer of oil and natural gas.”
“The number of Americans who think that now is a good time to find a quality job is back to pre-recession levels, and we are heading into the new year with consumer confidence at a seven-year high.”

The notion that Obama is a failed president is a rightwing myth built on lies. In fact, his policies saved us from another Great Depression, and he produced the first real health care reform in this country in many decades.
If you want to see politicians do something tangible, stop looking for it in the GOP’s corner, because you won’t find it there. All you’ll get from them is government shutdowns, scare campaigns (deficits, Ebola, etc.), and “no, no, no!”

Benghazi!
seatackled spews:
You are on to something. Mario Cuomo never ran for president because his birth certificate was going to reveal he was born in Benghazi, where his family plotted for decades with the Clintons, the Rodhams, Ted Kennedy, and Ho Chi Minh to attack the US Consulate there.
Mike Barer spews:
Since this is one of America’s great political families, this saga will be continued. Don’t forget, Andrew has children with Kerry Kennedy.
