I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been told how dangerous I am, because, of course, I’m not nearly as civil as all those nice folks on the right…

Police arrested a man around 5 p.m. Thursday outside KSPS studios after he drove by a group of Sen. Patty Murray supporters waving a meat cleaver.

Meanwhile, inside the studio, Sen. Murray kicked ass… at least according to all the reviews I’ve read.

    Officers stopped Sieler, who reached for the knives as they approached him.

    I can see a future news report now….

    After the appeals court upheld his conviction of Unlawful carrying or handling weapons apparently capable of producing bodily harm (RCW 9.41.270), Sieler ended speculation of further challenges saying, “With today’s decision, and because of the political makeup of the Washington state Supreme Court, which makes it almost impossible to overturn this ruling, I am ending my appeals”

    Yep, Senator Murray kicked Rossi’s ass. If he could be elected on “ya know,” we would be in trouble. As it was, Dino came across as a clueless phrase-mouther and Murray repeatedly called him on it.

    But once again, Gary Useless Locke came out of his crypt to give Rossi a claim that he “worked across the aisles” in the Legislature. I’m glad that someone was leading because Locke sure wasn’t

    The GOP has spent the last 70 years actively and quite openly courting the sociopath vote, through the protestant churches and the “alternative” social and political groups such as the KKK and the John Birch Society, then everyone pretends to act surprised when the unhinged and psychotic act out on their behalf.

    I don’t know any liberal skinheads. But the ones I do know, are all grown-up kids that were raised in JBS and/or fundamentalist christian households. I’ve never met a liberal with a swastika tattoo, but I’ve seen plenty of right-wing racialists and nationalists with spiderwebs on their necks and swastikas on their arms.

    The main difference between the GOP and the Democrats?

    There are plenty of conservative Democrats, Racist Democrats and Jingoistic Democrats, but there are no liberal Republicans.

    Republicans toe the party line, no matter what.

    The people in Congress who call themselves “conservative” always vote on the Republican party line, even if it fucks their constituents over. Because they know that the GOP has that propaganda apparatus very well emplaced. That apparatus will always have their backs until they step off that line.

    Those Representatives in Congress will always have a job as Congressmen as long as they vote how they’re told to by the Lobbyists who even go so far as to write the bills for them. Even the poison pills. Even the bills they’re supposed to vote against, on “party principle”. It’s all about the propaganda value for the next election cycle.

    Those professional advertising firms, the big television networks, the franchise chain megachurches, are ALL, without exception, right wing. NBC, ABC, CBS, are all owned by corporations that have a vested interest in seeing the Corporatist agenda held firmly in place, the current status quo. They ARE the military-industrial complex. They ARE the

    corporatist party,     whatever public stance they take on a socioeconomic matter or whatever political party to which they claim adherence. The appearance is all that matters, the propaganda is all they need.

    And that propaganda, that appearance is all that matters. It is backed up by literally trillions of dollars, and the people that have that level of money available.

    @9 I’ve heard that Mr. Cleaver is ignorant, condescending, smug, snide, and oh-so-full of himself. Oh, and he wouldn’t know a fact if it bit him in the ass. Hmm, speaking of which, where’s Lost?

    If if you knock a wingnut off their smug with some retort or another, it’s usualy only minutes before the shield of smarmy-smugness reasserts itself.

    You can kick their ass in a debate and they’ll walk away satisfied that they have refuted you on everything.

    News to wingnuts: ‘I have a right to my beliefs’ is not a refutation of a fact.
