Can’t wait till the chickensh*t troll breaks in with some NWA lyrics.
You know the rhyme “tehchickensh*t”. Take it away.

I’d rather hear you discuss Goldmark and McKenna. Also, why no media coverage besides yourself on the Auburn parade?

By the way, in response (in advance) to the trolls who insist that somehow Goldy must/should be in favor of these regs because they involve “big government”….
The key is not to mindlessly dismiss all regulations because they are “burdensome or expensive”, nor is it to accept all regulations which are mere public theatre than achieving any real purpose, just for partison purposes. They key is to have regulations which achieve their intended purpose with a minimum of expense and inconvenience on the average citizen.
Take, for example, FAA regulations requiring better airline seats that actually stay attached to the airframe during crash. Studies done in the 1970’s and early 1980’s indicated that there were a number of accidents where the airframe remained reasonably intact, but the passenger seats broke off and hurtled across the cabin, causing quite a few deaths. Better regulation in this area, implemented over quite a few years, has saved quite a few lives. Airline safety professionals pointed out that the recent 737 crash in Columbia where only one person died even though the airframe broke into three pieces was not so much a “miracle” as a natural result of these safety regulations. Of course, they were bitterly upposed by the industry at the time, which argued that they couldn’t afford them.

I sent the following message to KUOW this morning and found that your blog is in agreement. I really want to know how to change public policy on this as it adds to the radiation already in the environment and to the waste waiting for disposal. Also I figure that at least some of our tax money is supporting this ridiculous move. Is it possible to develop a successful movement against this?
“Public officials should take more responsibility for this, regulating it and paying for it. Sea-Tac is at least in part supported through our tax dollars through the Port of Seattle. Where is the Port on this issue? This is an issue of Public Safety. There is no proof or even hint that this will actually make us safer from terrorists or that it would have prevented any of the recent incidents. It simply isn’t worth the risk to the environment.
Why anyone would introduce more unnecessary radiation into the environment in light of rising rates of cancer and the difficulty that we are having with disposal of radioactive waste. I know that the danger of the radiation will be played down, but each time we introduce a little more it simply adds to what is already here and it does increase the amount of waste. I will say “no.” Peer pressure is great for Americans as those who sometimes for very reasonable reasons resist taking drugs (example for menopause) or being unnecessarily scanned by x-ray are treated as outsiders and this does affect their lives.
I should add that the cumulative affect should always be considered before the introduction of added radiation and the USA should be working on reducing radiation and its waste.”

Because most people thought it was irrelevant – goldy and his little photog boy were the only ones that tried to spin it into something its not.

How come Goldy is on the CONVERSation rather than the LIBation?
Is it because he is a CONVERSative rather than a CONSERative?
