Why is it that the radical repubican religous remnant needs to spread bull shit?
Like Darcy I graduated from Harvard and have for years, correctly described my degree as in biology, history of religions and photography. In two of these concentration aress (photography and biology) I have held academic positions in California, Japan, Washington, Sweden, ??? I guess these places must not have gotten the message that a Harvard concentration is not a qualification?
This sort of mud slinging should be seen as what it is, unpatriotic pandering to our lowest reasons for voting against a candidate.

Madness? Another Fruitless Argument From Pelletizer!

SeattleJew, regarding Willie Horton, being black Puddy’ll speak to despicable person. What was the issue? Well we have to go back a little in time. Puddy calls that chronology.
In Lawrence, Massachusetts, on October 26, 1974, Horton and two accomplices robbed Joseph Fournier, a 17-year-old gas station attendant, stabbing him 19 times. Joseph Fournier had cooperated by handing over all of the money in the cash register. Joseph Fournier’s body was dumped in a trash can. Joseph Fournier died from massive blood loss. Horton was convicted of murder, sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole, and incarcerated at the Concord Correctional Facility in Massachusetts.
Moving forward in time, Horton received a weekend furlough (pass) from a Massachusetts prison. On June 6, 1986, he was released as part of a weekend furlough program but did not return. On April 3, 1987 in Oxon Hill, Maryland, Horton twice raped a local woman after pistol-whipping, knifing, binding, and gagging her fiancé. He then stole the car belonging to the man he had assaulted, but was later captured by police after a chase. On October 20 1987, Horton was sentenced in Maryland to two consecutive life terms plus 85 years. The sentencing judge, Vincent J. Femia, refused to return Horton to Massachusetts, saying, “I’m not prepared to take the chance that Mr. Horton might again be furloughed or otherwise released. This man should never draw a breath of free air again.”
Horton was this convicted killer who raped and tortured this Maryland woman after he pistol-whipped, knifed, gagged and hog-tied her fiancé. Something stillbentover does in his “mind” everyday on HA. Dukakis could have changed the furlough program when he was guvnur. He didn’t. Dukakis made the mistake of not caring about victims and people became outraged when the system screwed up.
When I was still a Democratic I watched the debates cheering for Mike. Unfortunately, Dukakis couldn’t answer this question from Bernard Shaw from the Commission on Presidential Debates (Google it):
“SHAW: Governor, if Kitty Dukakis were raped and murdered, would you favor an irrevocable death penalty for the killer?
DUKAKIS: No, I don’t, Bernard. And I think you know that I’ve opposed the death penalty during all of my life. I don’t see any evidence that it’s a deterrent, and I think there are better and more effective ways to deal with violent crime.”

So SeattleJew, democratics tried to make Willie Horton a race issue in the Dukakis/Bush The Elder race, when it was a stupidity issue of Dukakis alone. Dukakis did not start the furlough program it was Republican Frank Sargent in 1972 and his legislation kept convicted first-degree murderers from being eligible for furlough.
After the liberal Massachusetts Supreme Court ruled that this right extended to first-degree murderers, the Massachusetts legislature created and quickly passed legislation prohibiting furloughs for first-degree murderers. In 1976, Michael Dukakis vetoed this bill. Dukakis supported it as a method of criminal rehabilitation of big time killers. WTF? He set the table.
Puddy remembers the TV spots showed Horton’s black face. He had an unkempt afro and a uncombed beard. Puddy remembers the TV spot of the prison gate spinning and people walking into prison and walking out. It was powerful stuff.
But Dukakis was stuck on stupid way before Lt General Russel Honore coined the term. The Horton/Dukakis story was about crime and arrogance. When one looks at Horton’s crime career, he never should have been furloughed. But Dukakis set the table in 1976. His sentence was life in prison, and was not eligible for parole for years. The furlough program as originally designed by Sargent was to facilitate an inmates’ societal reentry towards the end of their prison term. Horton was nowhere near that SeattleJew!
