For years, 710 KIRO has done bitched-up blunders. It put on Prell and President Reagan’s son, the ballerina. It took off the Midnight Truckers. Then, even worse, it gave a gig to the ridiculous Goldstein.
All’s forgiven. Yesterday and today, KIRO did something counterintuitive and amazing: it put on real talent for its morning talent. Mix is so good that he’s almost as good as Boze on KTTH … high praise, indeed.
So here’s a modest proposal: give Mix the weekend swing shift, 7PM – 1AM, to build some buzz. Then let him keep weekends while adding the main even, weekday mornings, 9-Noon. For fairness and balance, let the excellent Dori have everything else. KIRO’s problems solved. It could again be a contender.
(Mr. Ross, the centrist, can try to hook a consolation contract from Suge Knight, assuming Knight’s still alive and is still a player.)

Either it’s the same person or a handful of losers reading from the same instruction page–perhaps people who at other times get their paychecks gathering signatures for Timmy’s initiatives.
I think they ought to give Goldy a shot at the weekday slot. You can agree or disagree with him, but local talk radio is a good thing, and Goldy’s perspective ought to be able to find an audience in Seattle. The last thing we need is another national talk show, liberal or conservative, rebroadcast hours after its actual airing.

John Carlson made the mistake of asking her to clearly explain how she’d fix the Social Security “Trust” fund. Apparently it was the first tough question she’s ever been asked, because she immediatley lapsed into 7th Grade geek speak. Not a clear explanation or rational thought in 10+ minutes of yammer and stammer.

Darcy’s answer was quite clear. Remove the cap on earnings and any presumed trouble down the road disappears.
If she had only pointed out along the way that there is actually NOTHING WRONG with the SS trust fund, and that conservative Polyps are using the SS trustees’ most pessimistic growth assumptions to “prove” their point even though the US economy has ALWAYS exceeded such assumptions, it might have been more interesting. Yes, I inferred from Burner’s incoherence that her final solution to Social Security, as with every other domestic issue, is Take More Money. Lifting the cap is a stopgap unless you repeal the iron law of demographics, encourage post-boomers to become exuberant breeders so they can support the bloated boomer cohort, or import enough illegals to (perhaps) put more in than they take out. Those are our options, for ensuring the sustainability of a system that was predicated on 20+ workers per recipient, now that we’re down to about 3 workers per.
And again, yes, to your assertion that the SS threat is exaggerated. But it’s exaggerated in comparison to the impending meltdown of Medicare/Medicaid.
And, yes, it is difficult as a conservative to assail domestic extravagance when a “conservative” president has indentured us at exorbitant cost to a war that we can’t win, can’t leave, and can’t spin as a win.
