It’s pride weekend in Seattle, and there’s tons to do. I’m always a big fan of the parade. Parades aren’t everyone’s cup of tea (and it can run pretty long), but there are other events, if you’re interested.
Last year it was right after the marriage equality decision, and it was exuberant, even by the standards of a pride parade. This year, it’s in the wake of Orlando, and I don’t have any sense of the feel of the parade or any of the events.

Same here in NYC. 6 hour parade last year.

This is unfortunate. – I’m sure this makes Puffy and Boob happy, so they can push their gun agenda and anti-Muslim agenda. But this wasn’t ISIS – it was one Americas terrorists.

I attended the very first pride events in more than one city. I can tell you we won’t be intimidated or let our spirits be deterred by hate. They are a celebration of love and that’s worth standing up for at any price. Have fun, people. You deserve it!

@2,
Are you sure you aren’t being unfair to the trolls?
Maybe they regard this attack as a 1st Amendment issue?
That must be what drives them. They don’t agree with violent bigotry. They just believe in defending the rights of white Xtian dude-bros to express themselves through violence, vandalism, threats of death, or refusal to provide contracted goods or services.
See how that works?

Doesn’t make me happy, makes me suspicious.
Something like this happens on Pike before midnight and nobody sees it? It’s Pride week and all the Capitol Hill peeps decide to go to bed early?
For a “brutal” beating, the photos of “them” (apparently the preferred pronoun) don’t look so bad less than 48 hours later.

and this

excuse me if I don’t go all-in on this claim of assault. Seemingly it’s always an activist, rather than just some Joe/Jane Smith minding their own business walking down the street. With suspicious regularity it’s someone with an agenda who claims assault, which we then found out was either faked or accidentally self-inflicted.
Horsesass isn’t immune from the too-quick leaps to accuse, either. There’s Jesse Hagopian initially claiming a cop intentionally sprayed him with pepper spray
A cop then ran up in my face and pepper sprayed me right in the face.
http://horsesass.org/seattle-p.....-as-usual/
and only after video shows up do we find out he was collateral damage by a cop who wet herself during a protest, and who was standing still and sprayed him from behind.
Before the video surfaced, what was Goldy’s take on this claimed intentional assault upon Hagopian?
My guess is that the police pepper sprayed Hagopian in order to prevent him from using his phone.
I hope the Seattle PD and every other law enforcement agency that investigates this does a very, very thorough job.

At Boxers in Chelsea in NYC – nothing but love and happiness; people having a good time.
Nothing like a bunch of heterosexuals – sorry.
Shirtless straight and bi bartenders having nothing but fun.
Fuck all the haters!
Teabaggers Again spews:
@5 Boob, I agree with you in some sense – I was suspicious myself. But whether it is true or not in this particular instance, there should be no denying that something like that could happen and actually does happen at a frequency that is unacceptable.
