The latest Rasmussen Reports election poll shows Sen. Maria Cantwell holding a 15 point lead over putative GOP challenger Mike McGavick for the third straight month, 51% to 36%. Cantwell’s job approval rating is a comfortable 58%.
It is also interesting to note that Gov. Christine Gregoire’s job approval rating continues to climb, now standing at 55%. Come 2008 it looks like she’ll hold all the traditional advantages of incumbency.

Go,Christine, Go! Where’s that moron Jaybo now. Can’t quote this Rasmussen Research?

Well, the minnow must be drowing in his own bile. It looks like every cause he has championed at his site has gone down the toliet…, and we can home that his blog is right behind.
But you have to like the proof that if you do your job well, you will be rewarded, even if people smear you all the time.
Left Turn spews:
Let’s see how the inbred righties try to spin this one.
Nindid spews:
I am not overly confident here despite the nice numbers….
Cantwell is going to have a fight on her hands and they will go heavily negative early if these numbers hold up. McGavick is still pretty unknown and that is in part a cause for the 36% rating which is nothing more then the floor for Republicans. As that changes over the next year the race will tighten considerably and Cantwell is going to have to campaign hard.
As for Gregoire, her numbers have finally come back after the cynical attempt by Republicans to undermine democracy for their own gain. I think the last election put a damper on their attempts to manufacture a backlash with talk radio et al and they ended up losing credibility through the whole thing even while riling up thier base.
For partisan purposes, I hope the Republicans stay stupid on this one. Rossi came close because Gregoire ran a vanilla insiders campaign and Rossi played the stealth moderate. If he/they try to play firebrand, they lose by pissing away all the moderates while the conservatives get all geeky.

Let’s see….half or more of the State thinks she’s illegitimate to begin with; and that’s not up for discussion. She’ll stick her foot up her twat over something stupid long before 2008 rolls around, I am confident in that.

Well, I am glad to see that Mark1 hasn’t wised up. Hopefully the rest of the Republican caucus thinks like he does.

That Gov. Christine Gregoire’s poll numbers look good does not surprise me. In addition to the advantage D’s have in Washington, the question always boils down to the same thing, can she run the joint.
Seeing the effects of Katrina frightened the daylights out of a lot of people, indeed the prediction of a slam dunk passage of I-912 in July of ’05 quickly evaporated when exposed to the naked truth of what happens with bad government (or no government in the case of Bush).
We are entering 2006 at the beginning of one of those pivotal moments in American History where a series of nasty scandals can push a “throw the bums out” mentality all through the electorate. But who are the Bums? Who do we throw out?

Jaybo, u ignorant slut. U’ve missed the point yet again. If even your vaunted Rasmussen is saying Cantwell is good, we wonder how much better her real numbers are.
Idiot.

I understand that some of these koolaid drinkers are so blinded by their ideology and hatred that they wouldn’t know the truth if it “smacked em” on the side of the head.
Larry said the following; “Jaybo, u ignorant slut. U’ve missed the point yet again. If even your vaunted Rasmussen is saying Cantwell is good, we wonder how much better her real numbers are.”
If you can’t trust this organization because it is a right wing puppet, then why reference them at all?
I personally do not put a lot of credence in any one poll. I think it wiser and more logical to take an average of all the polling for a better number. That means that I do not hold any one poll up as the ultimate sage in determining public sentimate.
What I do find so humorous is the left’s constant submission to the “poll god” in order to decide how they should think. Nothing can be decided on without first asking the almighty pollsters what they should do.
Ex Pres. Clinton has turned all of you into a bunch of spineless wimps.
Before you respond to this post, make sure you conduct a poll first to find out what the public thinks.

For a university trained person, you seem a little dense.
What I enjoy doing here is posting polling data that I know will stir things up here. And just like I assume, you moonbats come n to attack the credibility of any poll that disagrees with your predjudices. Basically I do it to get a rise out of simpletons like you.
Finally, if I were you I would contact the university from which you received your degree and ask for a refund. It is clear that you did not get the education that you paid for.
Nindid spews:
Jay @17 – I realize it is a mistake to take you seriously – I don’t – but I can’t let this crap stand either.
First, Rasmussen has tended to lean somewhat Republican ever since his 2000 calls which were almost universally favorable to the Republican side as compared to other polling outfits. Whether it is in his polling assumptions or methodology I don’t know, but that has been the pattern. It is not to say he is not credible, but if you don’t take it into account you are just missing something.
Second, polls are polls. Do you happen to remember when all the trolls came over and said that Irons was going to win because he was close in the polls a few weeks out? Perhaps you missed that part….
Trying debating the facts and lay off the ad hominim attacks for once. Maybe you would get some respect if you did. Maybe not….

Hi Dean Logan how was you day at the office? When is the Federal Goverment droping by to support your claims? Voter Advocate = Dean Logan, will everybodys vote get counted next election? That includes all parties and only Washington State citizens only Dean? You do plan to ship all the ballots out on time for the Military, right? Remember no free rides for the drunks in Seattle with their ballots already filled out. Please don’t let the Seattle two fish wappers print who should get elected so the illiterate can copy the info on their ballot. Logan should we vote with a pencil, pen, or color crayons to emulate voter intent? Hope you audit goes real well Dean.

I still see Cantwell having put herself over a barrell. For most of her term she’s been trying desperately to make herself appealing to voters in Southwest and Eastern Washington, and in doing so has supported the war and the many of the administration’s other awful “accomplishments” that she’s going to have to work hard to make it up to the Democratic base. In the meantime, desipite the photo ops with soldiers and farmers, all those good Christian righties are getting screamed at from the pulpit every Sunday about how she’s an extreme leftist, abortion-gay-rights-and-evolution-supporting minion of Beelzebub himself. Her recent efforts to block Ted Stevens’ latest attempt to impersonate J.R. Ewing was perhaps commendable but will be long since forgetten by November.
Sooner or later Democrats are going to learn that they aren’t going to get anywhere but out on their butts by pretending to be Republicans. Those who want Republicans in office will still vote for Republicans. Some of the incumbents in particular might consider the possibility that there are still some of us out here who haven’t drunk the Kool-Aid…otherwise how the hell did they get there in the first place?

Don’t you people understand that polls are snapshots of opinion at a particualar time. Why are you bringing up polls from December?
The AP-Ipsos poll taken 1/3 to 1/5 is the most current national poll, BTW. That one shows that:
Bush approval 40%, disapproval 59%
“Should the Bush administration be required to get a warrant from a judge before monitoring phone and internet communications between American citizens in the United States and suspected terrorists, or should the government be allowed to monitor such communications without a warrant?”
Should be requred to get a warrant – 56%
Should be allowed to monitor without
a warrant – 42%
Also, people want Democratic control of congress, 49% to 36%.
