I spend an awful lot of time browsing the websites of dozens of Northwest blogs and newspapers. Now there’s a new website that’s trying to make life a little easier for us news-junky progressives.
Pacific NW Portal recently went live aggregating news and commentary from Washington, Oregon and Idaho… including yours truly. It’s not perfect, and a little busy (and it has some problems with my old version of Safari,) but it’s a great start. I’m certainly going to add it to my personal rounds.

As long as you’re only interested in a “singing to the choir” one point of view, yes it is. Personally, I feel better informed when I COMPARE what papers like NYT says VS Wall Street Journal.

Speaking of news summaries, I recommend Slate’s “Today’s Papers”, which provides a one-page summary of headline stories in the major newspapers (NYT, WP, LAT, USAT, WSJ; sometimes others). It’s well written, and also provides occasional comment on the quality of the journalism (or the lack of it). I read it the first thing in the morning when I turn on the computer.

Really, Ass? Well, your side has a site that sings to the choir too: Orbusmax. I suppose if people want to see “the other side” they can visit orbusmax.

Well no kidding.
Who ever said they didn’t.
Put down your dukes there kiddo, not every comment means you need to be spoiling for a fight.

Isn’t this basically the same thing as State Legislator Don Benton’s $565/year NW news aggregate? Dang, this site is a steal! And I was just about to send Benton a check…
