So both Vancouver-Portland metro dailies have now endorsed Gov. Chris Gregoire, Democrat, over Dino Rossi, GOP Party. From The Oregonian:
Attacking the gas tax, he has argued that major transportation improvements that Washington needs desperately could be financed out of the state’s general fund without new revenue. His recent TV ads making dark charges about the state’s oversight of sexual predators have been found both odious and inaccurate by many of the state’s law enforcement officers.
Rossi’s arguments, and the voice he would provide to an element of the state that too often feels unheard, don’t outweigh Gregoire’s impressive first term.
Washington voters should give her another.
Yeah, I know, they’re just newspaper endorsements. Campaigns covet them but it’s pretty hard to claim they influence that many voters.
Still, lots of folks on the north side of the Columbia subscribe to The Oregonian, so it’s worth noting. Editorial boards seem to be noticing Gregoire’s steady hand.
Mr. Cynical spews:
Wow, A far-left newspaper outside of Washington State endorses Gregoire. What a shock!
Impressive 1st term??
The Oregonian never even questions the $8 BILLION of increased spending or the $3.2 BILLION Deficit that Gregoire claims to have lowered to $1.7 BILLION with some voodoo accounting shenanigans and scraping under couch cushions for money squirreled away by various Departments.
Perhaps the Oregonian is gleefully endorsing her for fear that if she loses in Washington, she will move to Oregon and spend like a drunken sailor!

Ever notice how shrill MrC is getting?

Mebbe Joe Biden can open things up for down ticket Dems in Washington state
http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com.....56072.aspx
The Delaware senator actually is heading to the West Coast, with campaign events scheduled in Nevada, New Mexico and Washington through Sunday. He’s also fundraising in Los Angeles and the Bay Area, squeezing in an appearance on “Ellen” and “The Tonight Show” this afternoon. He said he hopes not to “make a fool of myself.”

Why doesn’t your blog accept comments that have any url links to them?
I couldn’t link the MSNBC report above, I submitted it 3 times
Particle Man spews:
Biaw Cynical, has only a few pitches to throw.
1. change the subject. At least belltowner would provide a good recipe back when he did this.
2. spew the same tired message regardless of the thread.
3. attack the poster or the author of the story being posted.
For BC, this is a job after all.

@1 The Wolf is at the door! The Wolf is at the door! To Cynical, anything to the center of Völkischer Beobachter is “far left.” The media is owned by rich Republicans, dummy!
Roger Rabbit spews:
@3 Yes, I’ve noticed that. Classic stress symptoms. His portfolio must be getting pounded, and he’s losing his sanity. Mine is, too, but no big deal, I don’t have to live on my investments because I have a safe and secure gummint pension plus my monthly Social Security check from the gummint. Screw work! I don’t have to work.

The Lowdown On Joe The Plumber
Here’s what we know so far:
1. Joe Wurlzebacher supports McCain.
2. A blogger claims Joe isn’t registered to vote, although this is questionable in light of another report that Joe voted in the Republican primary.
3. Joe admits he doesn’t have a plumber’s license, but claims he doesn’t need one. The county says otherwise.
4. The county says Joe’s boss isn’t licensed, either.
5. McCain stated in the debate that Joe worked “his whole life” for the business he says he wants to buy. In fact, Joe is 34 years old and has worked for the business in question for only 6 years.
6. Joe admits he doesn’t have a plan to buy the business. His boss only suggested it. The business consists of the boss and Joe, and has no other employees.
7. Joe admits the business doesn’t make $250,000 a year and he would benefit from Obama’s proposed tax cuts. In other words, he wasn’t speaking the truth when he told Obama the business earns $270,000 to $280,000 a year.
8. Joe’s ambitions are to own a house, a dog, and a bass boat. He didn’t say in which order.
Roger Rabbit spews:
In short, Joe is a Republican; and like other Republicans, he’s a liar, a scofflaw, and a braggart.
Marvin Stamn spews:
As long as he doesn’t try to count the letters in the words he says.
Note to the democrats veep pick, the word “jobs” has four letters. So simple a quayle could do it.
It’s funny to hear the crowd chuckle when he proves his “higher IQ.” I wonder how many in the crowd come solely to catch his gaffes on video?
Strange you hear more about palin rallies, is biden making such a doofus out of himself the liberal media ignore his?
Marvin Stamn spews:
And the reporters are liberal.
I know, list the republicans that have shows on abc, nbc, cbs, cnn, msnbc. That would prove your point wouldn’t it?
Marvin Stamn spews:
Funny rabbit…
Everything you have mcsame has, except better. Better gummint salary, better gummint benefits, better gummint retirement benefits, and then his wife is loaded.
Strange, you’ve posted many times bitterly about your lot in life. How bad it was working for clueless superiors and idiot underlings, bad health insurance, etc.
Mr. Cynical spews:
Roger–
Did you buy WMI like I told you to?
You could have had it at $29 if you acted when I told you so.
And BTW…my portfolio now includes 2,000 shares of WMI and WFC.
The rest is in CD’s, Bonds and Money Market.
I made $2400 flipping JRCC…BOT yesterday & sold today. I made well over 6-figures on 13 trades this year.
You KLOWNS are so fearful of investing and taking risks…no wonder you are so angry & jealous. You are waaaaaaay too obsessed with this election stuff….as if somehow you will magically become wealthy if O-blah-blah gets elected and he will give you some free stuff!
What he will give you is a bunch of layoffs & high unemployment if he pursues his tax the rich guys scheme. You KLOWNS cannot see that folks who are “rich” are the ones who create jobs. You look at the “economic pie” as finite…rather than expandable. So you focus on taking…rather than growing.
That’s why I call you KLOWNS….LEFTIST PINHEADED KLOWNS!
Roger Rabbit spews:
I’ll bet the whole Joe The Plumber thing was staged, a setup, a McCain supporter who volunteered to do a little “stealth” dirty work for the McSlippery campaign.
Mr. Cynical spews:
Rog–
Hey, I’m Mr. Cynical…stop treadin’ on my turf you cynical old f@ck!
Roger Rabbit spews:
@18 Why do I care what McRich is worth? I have what I need — a hole in the ground, free grass, and no boss! That’s enough for me.
It’s laughable, though, for any voter to think that a guy whose wife is worth $100 million has any clue about what ordinary citizens are going through right now.
Roger Rabbit spews:
@19 The only investment I’m gonna make in garbage is voting all the Republican garbage out of office. That’ll return more satisfaction than owning a garbage stock will.
Roger Rabbit spews:
I heard Bush’s presidential library will have 1/2 inch of shelf space to hold all the books he’s ever read.

Rossi wants those newspaper endorsements. He hasn’t been getting them like four years ago.
Rossi has failed to pick up endorsements in key newspapers that were easy for him four years ago.
But he’ll probably get the nod from the Seattle Times this weekend for no other reason than Chris Gregoire does not share Frank Blethen’s rigid views on the estate tax, even though they will do their level best to say it is something else.
It will be big news if the Times does not endorse Rossi.
If the Times editorial board were true to its form, news is possible. If Rossi is not endorsed by the Times it will be because the newspaper notes huge flaws in Rossi that others will need to stand up and pay attention to.
