Let’s be honest about Harris. If she were top-tier she would not have dropped out before facing the primary voters even one time.
She’s preserving her reputation as a VP pick. If she comes in fourth, fifth, sixth in Iowa, she’s further-damaged goods.
She’s in the Veepstakes with Booker and Castro.
She’s also a still-viable candidate in 2024, 2028, or even in 2032, although to be successful she needs there to be a less leftist environment in her party so she can run as a moderate, someone who believes in the rule of law. Hopefully one day that will come back into fashion, on either side.

Elijah Dominic McDotcom spews:
Since the House Judiciary is choosing to focus their hearings on the lawful, constitutional, and historical basis for impeachment, I think it’s worth recognizing and noting the primary objection to impeachment being raised by the GOP in defense of Trump.
The biggest single theme being argued by the GOP members, their ranking member, and their staff attorney seems to be that this impeachment at this point in time, and under these circumstances will destroy the republic. To make this argument they are frequently reaching back into history for examples, either from real events or from the rhetoric and reasoning of statesman and leaders involved in those events.
One event they lean into is the impeachment of Andrew Johnson in 1868, because it was a politically divisive question during a very polarizing time in history. And also because some historians have argued that the basis for Johnson’s impeachment had more to do with partisan disagreements over policy, rather than true “high crimes and misdemeanors”. So there are a great many examples of impassioned rhetoric from both sides. Including a few notable examples of Republicans (in opposition to Johnson, a Democrat) who voted in the Senate for acquittal.
But here’s the thing: impassioned rhetoric aside, and certainly without conceding in any way that this hearing is based on a political disagreement, Johnson was impeached.
Yet here we all still are more than 100 years later, republic still intact (barely). Impeachment of Johnson did not result in a destruction of the Presidency. It did not summon forth a flood of impeachments of every subsequent President who wasn’t popular. It did not cripple the government at all. Quite the contrary.
The impeachment of Johnson confirmed and strengthened the co-equal status of the Congress in the wake of an extended period in which the Executive branch, operating through its Article 1 powers to wage war, had assumed an arguably disproportionate power inconsistent with the intentions of the framers. The dispute over domestic policy upon which the impeachment was based grew directly out of that.
Johnson’s impeachment strengthened the republic. It did it by restoring the proper co-equal role of the Congress (for better or for worse) in setting domestic policy. And that more than anything else, is why this Republican party opposes impeachment. Unlike their predecessors from 150 years ago, they support an imperial Presidency unchecked by and unresponsive to Congressional oversight. They are not objecting to an abuse of legislative authority. They are objecting to the very existence of legislative authority.
This is Every Republican You Know.

From the racist incel’s link, it doesn’t say anything about Rosen saying anything about President Obama’s character.
It says that Rosen “reported North Korea would respond to sanctions with more nuclear tests. But the information was classified.”
Fox News reporter James Rosen was declared an unindicted co-conspirator under the Espionage Act during an investigation of a State Department adviser who leaked classified information involving North Korea. The official went to prison.
Stephen Kim Spoke to Rosen. Now Mr Kim in Jail. But not Rosen.
And yet even at their most aggressive moments, those administrations did not take steps to prosecute reporters for relying on leaks of classified information. They did search for the source of their classified leaks and prosecuted the people who provided the information.

There’s no doubt that Doctor Dumbfuck is a Republican in every fiber of his being. When he finds himself supporting a party whose candidate and policies are indefensible, he attacks Biden’s son.
This guilt-by-association tactic is as old as McCarthyism, maybe older. We saw it when Obama first ran for president. (“He met this guy at a function who was a 1960s militant …”) It’s how Republicans attack their opponent when their own candidates and agendas aren’t salable.
Yes, Doctor Dumbfuck is as Republican as it’s possible to be. He has GOP written all over him. And he never fails to use the GOP’s dishonest tactics.
I say “dishonest” because let’s assume Hunter Biden is a prodigal son, the worst kind of offspring to have — heck, for the sake of this argument, let’s assume he’s in prison for drug dealing or worse — what does that have to do with Joe Biden’s qualifications and fitness to be president?
Damn little, if anything at all. We all know that good parents sometimes have bad offspring, just as bad parents can produce children who shake off their origins and rise to greatness. Children are subject to many influences outside the home, and as they grow older, parents have less influence over them or how they turn out. Anyone who’s ever parented a teenager knows this.
Which makes me think that Doctor Dumbfuck has never parented teenagers or human kids. All his children have hooves and four legs, and they all look exactly alike. So you can’t expect him to make any distinction between Joe Biden and Hunter Biden. Lacking any human parenting experience, it’s impossible for him to see any distinction between father and son.
I feel sad for him. He doesn’t know what he’s missed out on. On the other hand, that’s entirely a result of his bad choices. Nobody forced him to sire ponies instead of children.

And Hunter would take the job. Under those circumstances he’d have potentially too much to lose.
The irony in all that is we’d then be subjected to endless whining from the 4chan/Qanon News Bureau about how unfair it is for them to be deprived of their straw man for burning. Today Rudy is in Ukraine for Donald meeting with Andriy Derkach. Derkach is a pro-Russian Ukrainian MP who has been calling for an investigation of Hunter Biden. Derkach is ALSO the son of Leonid Derkach a former head of Ukraine’s security services under former
President Kuchma.
Before Papa Derkach was a Ukrainian official he served for 20 years in the KGB. Do I need to clue you in that Putin was also a highly regarded KGB agent during this period?
But it gets better. A 2000 leaked recording of a conversation between Kuchma and Papa Derkach is widely believed to be a major flashpoint in Ukraine’s Orange Revolution.
Gongadze was a journalist critical of Kuchma and his government. Later in 2000 his headless body with acid burn marks turned up in Kiev. It is widely believed that Papa Derkach ordered the murder. Protests followed the release of the audiotape. Eventually arrests were made but Former Interior Minister Yuriy Kravchenko died of two gunshots to the head on 4 March 2005 the day he was to testify in the murder case. Three lower level Interior Ministry officials would eventually be sent to prison for the murder.
That’s who Rudes is meeting with today. The son of a pro Putin murdering ex KGB official who lost power when Ukrainian nationalists overturned the political system in his country.

Mueller witness bragged about access to Clintons secured with illegal campaign cash, says Justice Department
An emissary for two wealthy Arab princes boasted to unnamed officials of a Middle Eastern government about his direct access to Hillary and Bill Clinton while funneling more than $3.5 million in illegal campaign contributions to the former secretary of state’s 2016 presidential campaign and Democratic fundraising committees, according to a federal indictment announced by the Justice Department this week.
“Wonderful meeting with Big Lady. … Can’t wait to tell you all about it,” George Nader allegedly wrote to an official of one of the foreign governments he advises in the Middle East after attending a political fundraiser with Hillary Clinton on April 16, 2016. Nader, a lobbyist, convicted sex offender and key cooperating witness in the Robert Mueller investigation, was brought to the Clinton fundraiser as the guest of Ahmad Khawaja, the founder and CEO of Allied Wallet, a Los Angeles payment-processing company.

BELLINGHAM — Two former Island County jail guards have been sentenced for their roles in what many call a systemic failure by Island County Jail staff that led to the 2015 dehydration death of a 25-year-old inmate.
The Bellingham Herald reports 55-year-old David Wayne Lind and 61-year-old Mark Edward Moffitt pleaded guilty Tuesday in Whatcom County Superior Court to falsifying the jail logs to make it appear they checked on Keaton Farris more than they did.

Negligent homicide is a thing.
You didn’t read about it did you?
The nurse practitioner on duty noted his 103 fever, recommended monitoring and transfer to hospital if conditions worsen.
INS staff instead chose to put him in a cell with another sick kid.
Then they didn’t monitor him (see nurse practitioner).
Then he died.
Then they filed a false report about how they actually did follow the instructions to monitor him.
That shows negligence AND consciousness of guilt.
Oh, and felony falsifying of a report.

Doesn’t make it murder. Probably doesn’t even make it homicide.
Since you brought up negligence, if someone is dead within hours of an examination you should look at the accuracy of the examination. The nurse practitioner may have missed quite a bit. From the ProPublica piece:
Independent medical experts pointed in particular to the decision to send a 16-year-old suffering from the flu to a holding cell rather than a hospital as a pivotal mistake.
If the practitioner didn’t insist the kid be transferred then the fault isn’t just with the jailers.
You don’t get murder out of this. Fault? Sure looks like it. Murder? Nope.

3. When the truck was stopped there was gunfire from inside the truck.
The incident came to an end when the truck encountered stopped traffic at an intersection. Police exited their vehicles and approached the truck, weapons drawn, even using bystanders’ cars as moving shields so they could get in better position.
The truck driver left the steering wheel shortly before gunshots were fired at 5:35 p.m. As seen in live helicopter footage from CNN affiliate WSVN, muzzle flashes were visible from inside the truck, then smoke.
4. Criminals fired before the chase began.
At least one woman was hurt in the robbery, Coral Gables police said. The suspects hijacked the UPS truck, took the driver hostage and sped away.
Thirty seconds later, police received a call of shots fired at the Coral Gables City Hall, believed to have been fired by the escaping suspects, Hudak said. A bullet struck the building, which went into lockdown.

Smarter Pelosi, Schumer, Schiff, Nadler: make the articles as numerous, as sweeping, and as detailed as possible. Forty to fifty individual articles charging specific instances of criminal wrong doing. More is better. Put everything into the committee hoppers and see what comes out. 2016 campaign finance violations, financial structuring, obstruction of SDNY, obstruction of EDV, obstruction of DCDC, solicitation to bribery, extortion, conspiracy, conspiracy to defruad, obstruction of Congress, perjury, all of it. Every instance. Every single violation.
There is no bargain to be had here. There is no argument to be made within the Senate. The Republican party is sitting in judgment of its own crimes. The whole point of this has been to demonstrate to all of the voters why this has to stop. And why they are the only ones who can stop it. People are lazy stupid motherfuckers. They are not willing to read through the charges and underlying statutes. They won’t even read beyond the first one or two paragraphs of a news story.
Size matters. If it didn’t Mary Kay wouldn’t have to look outside her marriage every weekend. When the dust settles, people, including the dumb corp media, will respond to a flood of charges by concluding that somebody did something wrong. It’s that simple. Concern trolls will argue about overreach. But that isn’t the point at all. There is no conviction to be had here. Bringing more articles means more vulnerable GOP Senators taking more tribal votes to protect their racist corrupt tribal chieftain. If the point of impeachment is to fuck the GOP in the ass, then Democrats should use the whole dick, balls deep.
Elijah Dominic McDotcom spews:
133, 135,
The reason the Clinton impeachment didn’t work out for the GOP was because in the end, they just didn’t have enough dick.
After three years of investigations totaling over $110 million in taxpayer spending, when it come down to it, bringing every single credible charge Starr could conjure up, it was just to thin of a bill. A mere two charges brought out of a lame duck House presided over by a Dead-Man-Walking, having just been slaughtered in the mid term. They didn’t have enough dick, and they couldn’t even get hard. A familiar humiliation for most Republicans.
