I’m glad to see the opening of the all women tiny house village in the city. It will be a much better place for the residents than on the street. Longer term we need a lot more housing and more programs to get people off the street.

    I was recently a consultant to an architect who designed one of these tiny house villages that is yet to open. I hated the damned thing. I felt like I was sandwiched between two city departments, one giving the mayor grief on permitting, but their only way to do it was to make life miserable for me. Never again.

    There are a few Chicago covers by them on Youtube. I think they’re really good.

    First band I saw in concert was Chicago, 1976 or 1977. I knew Terry Kath was really good but I didn’t know that Jimi Hendrix liked him, too. Kath accidentally killed himself with a pistol, in 1978, about 15 miles from where I went to high school.

Workers get up early, fight commuter traffic, get harassed by bosses and customers, and are “rewarded” with shitty pay, no benefits, and arbitrary layoffs and firings. Wages are taxed more than any other form of income. You’re much better off having rich parents. Then you can get into a college with a building named after your grandfather where you won’t have to attend classes or do any studying to graduate, won’t have to work or pay taxes, and can spend the rest of your life being a complete asshole as a Republican congressman.

    Appears Carl is struggling with his inner progressive. That he might have thoughts on the matter that are at loggerheads with each other. He may think it’s good these women have a place to go, but struggling with whether the manner it was done in was the best use of the publics money. It does not say there are going to be men only tiny housing projects. Or that there will be teenager tiny houses projects. Should the government be separating the sexes in this manner? Does seem to reject certain laws we have in place about discrimination by sex, or at least the spirit of the laws.

    Could a larger apartment building be put in serving a larger segment of the homeless population? Since the head tax got killed by Amazon maybe the city should go after some office space and turn it into homeless housing in the downtown area. A kind of dormer living situation. Might get some of Amazons employees off the street or out of camper trailers.

There are a few Confederate statues he may have to deal with or some Confederate flags being flown. And of course there were never any Knights of the Golden Circle here, so any such thought must be silenced.

    Still its all pretty weak tea as to proving the Governor of Kentucky is or is not a racist. I do not think any of us know, and until the Governor of Kentucky says he is (he’s said he is not) I will give him the benefit of doubt. And it does not really matter as being a racist does not disqualify anyone from being in public office if they can get elected. One can deal with a person who is open with their prejudice, it’s unfortunate that there are some in our nation that takes this to a point that any politician cannot even admit they have a prejudice or may have a prejudice. They have to hide it where it can be a corrupting influence on the individual and society.
