Over the weekend, I saw The Government Inspector at Seattle Shakespeare. It was quite funny, but there were a few aspects that felt dated. One thing I wanted to comment on was the casting seemed to be gender neutral, or at least had some women playing male parts and it wasn’t commented on.
I don’t know if it was a lack of good parts for women, or what. I do know it took about a minute to figure out and then it was fine. I’d prefer better female characters, but if you’re reviving old plays that don’t have them, this is pretty good.

With Veterans Day looming, NFL holds sit-down with angry veterans groups
With TV audiences down, sponsors such as Papa John’s on the warpath and empty seats at stadiums across America, the last thing the NFL needs is for millions of military veterans to formally embrace the #BoycottNFL counterprotest that began last year.

Just three NFL players kneel during the National Anthem as the league honors the military during Veterans Day weekend
The NFL Players Association had pleaded with players to observe a two-minute moment of silence before games to honor veterans.
Even players who had been protesting most of the season stood for the anthem this week, including the Seahawks Michael Bennett, who stood before Thursday night’s game.
The San Francisco 49ers’ Eric Reid and Marquise Goodwin did kneel, as well as New York Giants defensive end Olivier Vernon, before the two teams played in San Francisco.

By July 2016, according to the analysis site SimilarWeb, Matt Drudge’s link-aggregation site Drudge Report was the second-most-visited on the Internet in the United States. Over the course of the month — the month of the Republican and Democratic presidential conventions and the month of the leak of emails stolen from the Democratic National Committee — SimilarWeb estimates that Drudge had 1,472,220,000 page views. That’s 1.4 billion, the equivalent of 47 views of the Drudge Report every second of every minute that month.
Being the second-most-visited site, incidentally, means that Drudge had more page views than Yahoo, Disney (including ABC and ESPN) and Time Warner. It had more than the New York Times and The Washington Post, combined — with enough space left over to also outpace Hearst.

The angry women of Philly’s suburbs spell doom for Meehan, Costello, Fitzpatrick. Can blocking GOP’s tax disaster save their jobs? My new column: http://www.philly.com/philly/b.....71109.html …
Salena Zito doesn’t exactly agree.
Statewide, Democrats suffered a marquee loss here in the Supreme Court race when former Pittsburgh Steeler Dwayne Woodruff lost to Republican Sallie Mundy.
They were also in spirit on the losing side of a statewide referendum on whether local taxing authorities should be able to exempt residents from paying property taxes on their homes. That anti-tax sentiment is a good sign for Republicans.
…
Democrats also have some serious image problems in this state. They are still fractured between the progressives and the more moderate voices in the party. They also keep electing people who have serious legal problems, such as Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski, who won a fourth term in last Tuesday’s election despite facing a 54-count federal indictment for corruption.
http://www.washingtonexaminer......le/2640323
Zito’s point is that PA politics is local. Whining about Trump and about federal legislation that ends up cutting the taxes of most voters in PA isn’t going to do it for Dems.

Hey, Elijah, there might be a bright side. Maybe Gloria Allred can claim that Kathleen Kane’s pussy was grabbed by a CCA officer.
Kathleen Kane, Former Pennsylvania Attorney General, Is Sentenced to Prison
NORRISTOWN, Pa. — The brief, unlikely political career of Kathleen G. Kane, Pennsylvania’s brightest rising star when she was elected attorney general less than four years ago, came to a humiliating close on Monday when a judge sentenced her to 10 to 23 months in prison for her conviction on charges of perjury and abuse of her office.
Ms. Kane, 50, rose to power as a Democratic outsider with no political experience…
But she soon created a scandal of her own, illegally leaking grand jury records in an attempt to discredit a critic and then lying about it to a different grand jury. In August, a Common Pleas Court jury here found her guilty of two felony perjury charges and seven misdemeanor counts, forcing her to resign from office.

“Kane is accused of lying when she testified in a grand jury hearing on the release of confidential files related to a 2009 grand jury investigation of Philadelphia NAACP leader J. [Whyatt Mondesire’s] use of grant money.
“The records were the basis of a June 2014 article in the Philadelphia Daily News that was critical of former deputy attorneys general with whom Kane had a long-running feud stemming from her campaign promise to review her predecessor’s handling of the Jerry Sandusky sexual abuse investigation.
“Prosecutors allege in court documents that Kane directed the release to embarrass former state prosecutors Frank Fina and Marc Costanzo, whom she blamed for providing information for a March 2014 article in The Philadelphia Inquirer that blamed Kane for ending a bribery probe against city Democrats.”

Frankly there are no good characters in the play, though every actor or actress wants the lead roles, and those are inevitable, though I suspect this writer would have experimented and tried a play without a traditional lead.

This is too funny. Roy Moore, mall cruiser.
“Locals say Roy Moore was banned from the Gadsen Mall in the 70’s for ‘repeatedly’ hitting on teen girls”
“If you see Roy, let me know. He’s banned from the mall.’” Legat told The New Yorker of his exchange with the security guard. “’If you see Moore here, tell me. I’ll take care of him.’” Legat also said his supervisor at the mall told him to watch out for Moore.

@72 The messages in the article look like the same kind of things reporters tweet and ask of people in some position in a campaign. And oh, by the way, WikiLeaks is a news organization, and think they won’t roll over should the US demand they register as some foreign agent for some country.
Meanwhile perhaps Goldie should get that paperwork in for Ecuador. The country who is providing amnesty to Julian Assange. Coincidence?
Mark Adams spews:
@55 You are taking all the fun out of politics for the dishonest and corrupt politicians. (And their friendly real estate agents.)
Mark Adams spews:
@34 Actually it would be hilarious fun if he did that. The Democratic Senators doing back flips to avoid this bi partisan effort. They know if they came out and supported the Speaker Ray Moore would be elected, possible barred, of course expulsion requires a 2/3 vote so it’s not easily accomplished and likely to fail, and if it works Moore just runs again. Unfortunately Mitch is too serious of a politician to have that kind of fun, sigh.

Bob – how often do you ask yourself that question of other people that you have spoken about that were somewhat in the same position?
Who gets your free pass and who doesn’t.
Remember – I can be your President too. Vote Milo!

With this windstorm, those that have to be out tonight, stay safe. That goes for the linemen, especially. I was at the Bremerton Transportation Center, and the gusts and current was so strong, the ferry had to abort it’s first docking attempt.

Classic blaming the victim. How about the others, more are coming out of the woodwork, are they all felons? as if something they did years after they were molested make the mile sting by a pediphile justifiable.
Roy spews:
@43 Pfeeeeeew!
The Wisdom of PissCan spews:
@63 never said that (that the US Government is totally trustworthy). My point exactly is that no one is trustworthy – even yourself. Even yourself as a veteran or current enlisted military member. The word Veteran alone doesn’t make you trust worthy. The fact that WikiLeaks does what they do (so called being transparency) doesn’t mean they are to be trusted either – do you know if they ever Cherry picked the information they disclose? What are they doing communicating with Don Jr?
Sooner or later the truth does come out and the wool pulled over your eyes starts to unravel.
Every politician isn’t to be trusted (ohhh except Putin). Some just more so than others. But the mis-deeds of some don’t cause as much pain as the mis-deeds of others.
WikiLeaks and Assange have their own personal agenda too. He’s just a little upset he never got to be a President – that’s my take of him.

This is what people should be thinking and talking about. But unfortunately – now is not the right time. Not the right time to talk about guns, climate change, or campus rape, etc…
The only stuff we talk about is kneeling, the loss of NFL Viewers, beating up Keurig coffee machines – why? What party rather not talk about guns, climate change, or campus rape, or the not good cops, etc..
Not sure how you can talk tax reform, when as the years pass into the future, land will be lost, homes foreclosed on, and land inhabitable, little water to evaporate, etc….but, I’m sure there is a silver lining in there somewhere – with death comes re-birth, just not with humans.
Mark Adams spews:
Back when Ray Moore would have been doing the acts he’s being accused of he was a Democrat. He ran as a Democrat. If true he when he became a Republican he was cured or something.
Still the Democratic machine in Alabama had to know this stuff and swept it under the rug. He was the Democratic candidate and their guy. If true the Democratic party of Alabama is complicit. They had to know this stuff and they let him and supported him. Since they waited until now to say squat Mr. Moore should be the next Senator from Alabama.
If there are any voters from Alabama on here vote how you want’ Just know one or both parties are complicit.
Now you HA Heroes over whether it’s the Democrats or Republican’s with more sexual deviants ect in em, Course Ray Moores political career shows this whole argument the farce it is.
Mark Adams spews:
@85 Clearly the inhabitants of the sinking island should take up their guns and go raise some hell., and do some rape at college campuses. They are just those undesirables you all are talking on here. Clearly these people on the island are just white people with privilege and money.
Now if they are in Harlem, New York you know they are screwed. Yes you there in New York city maybe you should take a look at the projected new coast line for New York as the waters rise.
Though we could have a volcanic eruption or there we could be in a solar minimum for the next 15 years. If so that is going to throw off the climate change calculations.

@87 I know all about the projected coast line for New York as the waters rise. Why would you think otherwise? You think that if I thought that the future coast line was not going to be affected then that I wouldn’t care? You are dumber than the dumbfuck. Thanks for the education.
Oh and there is no such thing as Harlem, NY…. Harlem is a neighborhood not a city. Harlem is part of NYC. NYC is a city of NY.
“They are just those undesirables you all are talking on here.” Now for once you got something correct…that’s exactly what I was thinking, but I decided to not say that, because I thought I would be polite this time.
But funny that you are so sensitive to that issue – the issue of being less of a human being for being white. Deal with it asshole.
The Wisdom of PissCan spews:

Hey RR, gonna buy some GE stock now? I see it dropped quite a bit after the report today, only the third dividend cut in 100+ years. Seems like Flannery is going down the correct path. Immelt was a disaster, should have been cut loose years ago.
Roger Rabbit spews:
@96 Why don’t you peddle that to NRSC and ALGOP? Right now they need any talking point they can get, including half-assed and no-assed ones. You excel at those.
Roger Rabbit spews:
@94 Thanks, but I prefer to maintain a diversified and balanced portfolio, and I’m already overweighted in industrials right now thanks to gains in Boeing (+68% this year) and Lockheed (+24%). I’m thinking of picking up a few more shares in sectors where I’m lighter, e.g. telecoms and health care. For example, I might enlarge my Verizon position a little if it bottoms here.

This is what counts as a win. Kuerig still isn’t advertising on Pedophile Cheerleader’s show but the CEO says it was unfortunate and unauthorized to put it on Twitter.
And they make their coffee this morning saying, “We really showed those sunsabitches while Fox scrambles to sell discount air time.
Roger Rabbit spews:
This was to be expected. After all, fucking the poor is what Republicans do.
“‘Low-income housing needs some sort of government assistance. It is simply uneconomic to do this without a subsidy,’ said Rick Goldstein, a tax attorney … and counsel to the Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition …. ‘It’s a devastating reduction if you cut that type of financing from the few programs that really exist out there to help … build affordable rental housing,’ Goldstein said. But that is just what the House Tax Cuts and Jobs Act bill does.”
https://www.cnbc.com/2017/11/14/affordable-housing-could-lose-big-in-republican-tax-plan.html
The article goes on to say the House bill, if it passes, could eliminate a million low-income housing units over the next 10 years.

I saw him washing it this morning. Maybe he hasn’t gotten the word yet.
