I hope you all enjoyed Pride if you went. I enjoyed the parade, but I had other things to do, so I couldn’t watch the whole thing. It’s not my place as a cishet guy to tell them how to change the parade, but it was pretty long.

    Seattle Pride Parade? Was it as long as the 8 hour NYC Pride Parade? I don’t think I will call the NYC Pride Parade a parade anymore, instead I will refer to it as an event. One where you can sit in a bar for a good part of the day, watching from a window or outside on the sidewalk while enjoying drinks and food. I had to cut it to 6 hours myself, I had to go home to cook some Turkey Chili, which came out great.

    I don’t follow you, except through Goldy, but a guy named Mark Hughes open-carried and managed not to be executed, by police or by anyone else, even though he was misidentified as the shooter.

    An open-carry activist, Hughes had a rifle on a strap over his shoulder — something that’s legal in Texas.

    Several hours later, he was named as a suspect in a shooting in downtown Dallas that left five officers dead and injured seven others, as well as two civilians.

    Pictures of him — smiling, wearing a camouflage shirt and carrying his rifle — were plastered on TVs around the country and tweeted tens of thousands of times.

    In fact, it was a visible minority executing cops that day.

    Sort of the opposite of your narrative. But reality usually is, Atrios.

    SCOTUS granted the appeal of a Washington state florist who was fined after she refused to sell flowers to a gay couple for their wedding and erased a lower court ruling against her.

    Apparently liberals need to do a better job disguising their contempt for those who observe religious teachings.

    In a grim milestone, two years have passed since the hate-crime brutal assault on a trans activist in the Capitol Hill neighborhood during Pride Week.

    Surprisingly, this assault, which reportedly occurred out in the open on a busy weeknight evening, was witnessed by no one.

    The FBI has not been able to find the perpetrator.

    Lynch’s argument for Trumpism is that he’s “shaking things up.” This comes from someone who knows little or nothing about what’s being broken, or what the consequences of breaking it will be.     Police in Leon Valley, Texas, apparently conducted a mass arrest a couple days ago. Information about it is sketchy, because nearly everyone who knows anything about it is in police custody, but it appears the police chief held a press conference and his officers arrested every civilian in sight, including passersby across the street, who were detained as “witnesses.” It appears these cops are incensed about “death threats” against them posted on the internet, and are blaming anyone with a cellphone for those threats.

    It was a pretty ugly scene, but because it was live streamed, not just recorded, part of it has made it into the public sphere via YouTube. (See link below) That’s what you have to do nowadays to keep cops from destroying the evidence of their civil rights violations and abuse of citizens engaged in lawful activities.

    Texas courts have ruled that recording police in public is legal, as long as the videographer doesn’t interfere with the police activity. It’s hard to see how recording a police press conference is illegal or furnishes a basis for mass arrests.

    The ACLU issued a travel warning about Texas last year.

    @8 Capitalists or investors or stockholders hold stocks, and some may have had a bad day today, some may have had a great day. These folks are not necessarily conservatives. Not all conservatives own stocks, some may refuse to own stocks and may only be in family owned businesses. Capitalists are probably different animals from liberals or conservatives.
