Congrats to Jay Inslee on the Presidential run. I like him quite a bit; He’s probably the best governor since I moved here. I thought he was great as my Member of Congress. And I am glad to see someone running explicitly on environmental issues. Still, I will probably not vote for him. Democrats have such a great field, of candidates it will be tough to choose.

    And don’t forget California will be voting early in the 2020 primaries. March 3rd is poll day. But early voting will allow California Democrats to weigh in four weeks ahead of that date.

    A shit ton more delegates from CA than either Iowa or NH. Which means that the west coast will be seeing a lot more early attention from the candidates for more than just money. Perhaps for the first time in a generation we will be seeing large campaign events on the west coast reaching out directly to progressive voters likely to participate in the primaries – not just fund raisers.

    It’s going to be different. I think it’s going to be better. California is a far better arena for testing candidates than either Iowa or New Hampshire.

    @5 I get that some people don’t like AOC’s socialist ideas, but I don’t get the HItler connection. Is he one of these people who believe the National Socialist German Workers Party (or, more accurately, der Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei) was a socialist party because it has the word “socialist” in its name? Its an easy mistake to make for people who don’t read anything, don’t know anything, and don’t look up or fact check anything.

    I had an interesting conversation with another investor this morning. He has a lot of Boeing stock that he acquired at an average cost under $1 a share. He said if Trump loses in 2020, he may sell it and pay the taxes on the gains, then buy it back, because he figures the Democrats will repeal Trump’s tax cuts for rich people like him. Makes since to me. He should get a piece of the $1.5 trillion Trump borrowed from China while he can, because both the tax cut and the lender may go away soon.

    Meanwhile, I bought more WBA and RIO today. WBA dropped $4.50 this morning, and RIO goes ex-dividend on March 7 and will pay a regular dividend of $1.80 plus a special dividend of $2.43 on April 18, so you’ll get back 7.2% of your purchase cost in 6 weeks. Roger Rabbit already owns both stocks.

    You gotta know that the entire Trumpublican/CPAC/PIZZACANNIBAL movement was anticipating that they’d be gathered together this week in collective fist-pumping hip-thrusting end-zone celebration orgy over NUTHINGBURGERREPORT!!! And instead they got canceled checks for PORN-ABORTIONS. I’m surprised one of them hasn’t lit themselves on fire in frustration. At long last CPAC has opened its arms to the hooting baboon troop of MAGAMonkeys and Roger Stone can’t be there! This was all months in the making as a way to reset after SHITDOWN!!! and to move past all the Russian treason, porn payoffs, and nukes-for-loans-for-towers-for-sanctions-relief scandal. And like almost every other distraction theater the GOP has cooked up in the last twelve months, it isn’t working.

    At this point the only thing they can throw out to distract is pure hyperbolic distilled raving lunacy. And even that isn’t working. Trump will appear some time in the next week or so to announce that he is Jesus. And the media will treat it as a credible claim worthy of consideration and debate. Cummings was right. We have to get back to normal. And the only way that happens is to shut out these nihilistic used car salesmen on PCP who have seized control of the GOP.

    This really is “the status quo” for Republicans now.

    Five to eight days would strongly suggest that the evidence the government intends to present at trial will not hinge on a lot of technically complicated parallel construction. In other words, in order to show that he lied under oath repeatedly about his contacts with Wikileaks and the campaign they will be able to present the documentation of that communication directly to the jury. And that means that, once again, these arrogant fucktards used un-encrypted email accounts to document their own crimes. Once they had the hard drives they had them. If that consistent practice is indicative of the operational security being practiced by the conspirators there are a lot of people in a lot of trouble.

    A detainer is not a legally sufficient grounds for arrest or imprisonment. It’s a fill-in-the-blanks federal form that can be completed on a car dashboard.

    If the Philadelphia Department of Prisons has a release order signed by a state judge, and an un-sworn detainer order robo-signed by a half-drunken high school educated ex-Marine Staff Sgt working as a faceless bureaucrat in the bowels of a federal office building.. guess.. which.. one.. they.. follow?

    Federal law enforcement agencies enjoy qualified immunity from claims of unlawful imprisonment for following erroneous detainer orders issued by these idiots. ICE issues hundreds of these every day. The error rate is off the chart. “Gutierrez, Guitierrez, Gutierez, Gutierrex, Aw fuck it. Do ’em all. Fuckin’ beaners.” State employees and the state taxpayers who employ them enjoy no such civil legal protection. The term “Sanctuary City” is a legal fiction created for political purposes. It doesn’t mean a fucking thing. The Constitution is what dictates how these suspects are handled. To arrest or hold someone on suspicion of a crime in the United States requires a fucking warrant. ICE is a broken agency that puts every single other non-federal law enforcement agency it interacts with at enormous legal risk.

    The Democratic party has been begging their Republican colleagues in Congress for twenty years to step up to the plate, do their jobs, and address immigration reform legislation, including the judicial processes needed to remove undocumented aliens. Every single Republican who has attempted to engage on these issues has been run out of the Republican party by hooting mobs of liver-spotted mouth breathing reactionary fools like you and the rest of our trolls.

    If you really cared about any of these crime victims you’d never vote for another Republican as long as you live.
