He defended Epstein throughout and helped arrange his ridiculous plea agreements, which btw guaranteed that all of Epstein’s rape buddies would never, ever be investigated. He’s a big part of the reason Epstein walked away from all that manifest evil.

I would counter that was being a good attorney. Doing that as a defense attorney, though morally corrupt, is how the job is done and Dershowitz did it very well.
But saying the letter of the law is not the law…

There’s been fair volume of speculation of late about the progress of the SCO investigation and where it’s going. One of the few potent observations has involved the sentencing schedules for all the cooperating witnesses in not just the SCO cases, but also in the SDNY, DC, etc. criminal cases.
When a prosecutor has anticipation of obtaining cooperating testimony at later trials for other conspirators the normal procedure is to delay sentencing in order to help promote that later cooperation. But at least a few of what would seem to be key cooperators for Mueller have proceeded to sentencing.
It’s been pointed out in both the WSJ and WaPo that at this point there’s little if anything to leverage further cooperation from Flynn, Papa, Cohen, and maybe not even Manafucked. And that has led some to conclude that maybe there aren’t any future trials anticipated in which prosecutors might expect to need their testimony.
Here’s the problem with that: you don’t really need co-conspirator’s testimony if the criminal conspiracy has been permanently documented and memorialized in authentic records. The recently unsealed indictment of Flynn’s Turkish co-conspirator makes this fairly plain. These idiots put the whole thing down in writing. And the indictment makes reference to these records at length. SCO has the receipts. And in many ways, the are probably better off putting authenticated documents on the stand in place of sketchy witnesses.
My sense is that the counter intelligence part of the SCO investigation isn’t even half way done. And the other offices are only just getting started.
