This morning the WH Dir of Strategic Communications (that’s the leg/political comms, not press/media comms) Mercedes Schlapp announced on teevee that any kind of “physical barrier” would suffice for WALL. So “river”? Maybe “moat”? How ’bout “warning sign” along with some yellow caution tape?
This is a very good time to point out that in just the last two weeks this White House has trolled no fewer than two dozen different possible explanations for what WALL might be. And in that same time they’ve broken the commitments to Congress on the CR legislation four different times. Going back a bit further they pulled the rug out from under funding legislation six other times in the previous year.
They just can’t stop the lying. And only a complete fool agrees to negotiate with pathological liars. This isn’t about negotiations, or policy. It’s about the compete lack of credibility that this White House has created over the last fourteen months surrounding their commitments to legislation. Give them “barrier” they will blow it up and demand WALL. Give them $5 billion and they will blow it up and demand $10 billion.
This is a performance art political stunt being carried out by pathological liars. They have in front of them the legislation to re-open the government. The Senate is ready to vote on it. All President PornFingers has to do is stop the lying.
