Man, what the hell, Republic? If you care about the Second Amendment, form a well regulated militia. You actually can do that. I mean protect yourself from invading Canadians, or insurrectionary elements or whatever. But this is silly.

    I have friend that lives in Ferry county and they state the meth problem is out of control, tweakers will steal anything not nailed down.

    So rather than deal with the real issue of rampant drug problems the law wants to focus on making sure anyone can get an “assault rifle” and defend their property from meth-heads.

    I have no sympathy for them over there. Why? Because instead of diversifying their economy (mining is dead over there) and improving their standing, they look for handouts from the western part of WA and bitch non-stop about King county dictating what they do. Ferry county in a very Red county, staunch conservatives, yet they can’t survive without support from others, the height of hypocrisy.

    The Sheriff can’t do what he is supposed to do so he has to manufacture this new controversy to take the attention away from his real failings.

    The reason for the USDA’s decision was Patterson’s daughter, who was born in 1989 and immediately went into surgery for congenital heart disease.

    @28. Funny, I drove a vehicle last night from NYC JFK (rental vehicle after picking up my cousin and his wife) to Central Connecticut, and we didn’t hit one bit of traffic. This was from 5:30-8:0pm, or during rush hour to post rush hour. I had to wonder if it was even Thanksgiving. Traffic was even lighter than normal. Typically on any day at that time that drive is horrendous.

    Maybe most people stayed home because they are too depressed about the Stock Market and economy.

    As usual you try and make it about you. The problem is comparing community transit to what is happening in Ferry County is apples and oranges. Island Transit is paid for by local taxes, King County isn’t paying for your local bus service: “The system is funded by a 0.9 percent sales tax within Island County, as well as state and federal grants.” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Island_Transit_(Washington)

    However King County is paying into state taxes that are utilized to pay for the Washington State Ferry system, which is an extension of the Washington State Highway system.

    Their story makes no sense. Federal employees have health insurance for which the employer agency pays a fixed premium. In any event, why would an agency head concern himself with the salary and benefit costs of an individual agency employee?

    This is just spaghetti tossing. Desperate conservatives are searching high and low for anything that might stick to Espy. After all, he doesn’t have a Confederate-KKK-lynching problem in a very black state.

    Oh, and the “sleazy” resignation? Espy subsequently was acquitted of all charges. In our system, that means he’s not guilty.
