He is without a doubt one of the biggest fucking phonies available to prop up the insecure cynicism of keyboard meatbags like yourself. I gotta tell you, I only click on your YouTube links about 10 percent of the time. And the second I see that Jimmy Dore logo swinging I stop the playback. The guy is probably one of the most intellectually dishonest people in media. His arguments are primarily ad hominem and false equivalency. He under-pays a mob of wanna-bes as “producers” to cherry pick some person from somewhere behaving badly then blows it up verbally to the cheering of his also under-paid studio flunkies. Then he uses that strawman example to discredit something else. It’s a tired-as-fuck shtick and you only make yourself look lazy by falling for it.
There really are some people on platforms like YouTube trying to make mouth breathing meat sacks like you more informed. Jimmy Dore isn’t one of ’em (not so much Praeger U either icyww).

Who the hell is going to sit through 21 minutes of video to figure out what point Shortbus is trying to make, if he has a point at all? In this case, it took only about a minute to sense where he possibly was trying to go, but I ordinarily don’t bother to click on his YouTube links, and I was gonna bail on this one if I didn’t see something within 90 seconds. He’s just wasting our time anyway. Most of the time, he’s just trolling, posting outrageous stupid stuff to see if he can provoke a response. He says he wants to debate, but most of the time there’s no content or substance to debate, you’d just get sucked into a pointless argument. I’m not entirely convinced he’s quite as stupid as he appears to be. Often I think he’s trying to troll this blog like JCH used to do before Goldy banned him; he’s just not as blatant about it.

I should note that the markets are up – way up – today despite this news:
Iran says it has control of Gulf and Strait of Hormuz: report
A top navy general in Iranian said Monday the country took full control of the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, a major shipping route that the Iranians threatened to block in the past amid worsening American-Iranian relations.
The Tasnim news agency reported the announcement by the head of the Revolutionary Guards navy, General Alireza Tangsiri, according to Reuters.
There once was a time during which this type of event would rattle the markets worldwide. I think that’s no longer the case for a couple of reasons:
1. Fracking and pipelines. Iran wants to close the Strait? Um, OK. Let ’em. We’ve got other sources, and only last week we were talking about selling part of the Strategic Oil Reserve.
2. There’s a new sheriff in town. Trump sets a few battleships and a carrier off toward the Strait, and Iran’s likely to fold like a cheap suit.
Iran’s reeling. This is good.

Roger Rabbitspews:
@10 No, he negotiated a “preliminary trade deal,” whatever that is. I suspect that means the terms don’t kick in unless Canada agrees to them. It appears the main thing he negotiated was changing the name “NAFTA” to “the United States-Mexico trade agreement,” which implies he doesn’t expect Canada to agree to the terms. Who knows what he went through to get that concession; maybe he threatened them with war, like he did to Little Rocket Man to get North Korea to stop saying they’re going to keep their nukes. One thing you can always be sure of with Trump is there’s more on the label than inside the box, like one of those half-full cereal boxes you pick up and shake in the grocery store when trying to figure out how badly the cereal maker is cheating you.

Student Loan Ombud Quits In Disgust At Trump Policies
“The U.S. official in charge of protecting student loan borrowers resigned in protest on Monday, saying the Trump administration ‘has turned its back on young people and their financial futures.’ Seth Frotman, student loan ombudsman at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, … also ripp[ed] into CFPB acting director Mick Mulvaney. ‘At every turn, your political appointees have silenced warnings by those of us tasked with standing up for service members and students,’ he wrote in a letter. Frotman also accuses the CFPB’s leadership of suppressing … a [staff] report … that the nation’s largest banks were… ‘ripping off students on campuses across the country by saddling them with legally dubious account fees.'”
Roger Rabbit Commentary: No one should be surprised that greedy banks, with the complicity of the Trump administration, are ripping off students. They hate students and don’t want them to vote. In any case, stealing from student borrowers is just one small cog in the spinning gears of the vast rightwing conspiracy detailed here:
@2 Is RR a super delegate? He is a corporate democrat that is pretty well established. You telling Jimmy Dore to go play with his legos too? You tool.
27
Mark Adamsspews:
@5 And you are all falling on personal attacks on me rather than the content of what is in there. You do not like it tell Jimmy Dore. Now we know end of the progressive spectrum three of you are on. He is just reporting on the rules passed by the rules committee of the DCCC. I do not think the superdelagates are at all democrat and if the democratic party is about being even mildly democratic one can quickly conclude there should not be any superdelegates, and the Republicans for all the faults you all like to point out is more democratic that the Democratic party at this time. Trump did have to overcome other Republican candidates in the Republican primaries. Yes he used divide and conquer, and may not have been their best, but in the end the Republicans stood by their process, and frankly expected to get trounced in the election. Usually it’s the Republicans whose process is often more of a coronation and that process has not been healthy. Now it’s the Democrats because they are afraid of another Humphrey defeat who have much less than Democratic process. Washington Democrats were over whelming for Bernie Sanders. The Democratic insiders stole the nomination from Sanders. So yes I’m putting you all in the position that you can’t this shit on Republicans because the 2016 nomination process was not a nomination process but a coronation process that put a shitty candidate up for President, running against the person she wanted to run against. (Yes Hilliary and other insiders with access to the media worked to get Trump mentioned more often rather than the rest of the field of candidates, none of which any of you would love, but at least you might have to have a bit of respect for.) Jimmy Dore is simply pointing out your hypocrisy. And amazingly you all are making assumptions that I agree with everything he’s saying, I do not, but I think a few more Progressive voices on here is a good thing. Make you work a bit harder as you cannot just fall on your memes of Republicans are evil and your propaganda. At some point you all have to sit down and talk to others in the big tent. Or you may find those others learning from you all and then applying and you finally dancing to their tunes.

I do think one of the most important issues is which way we are going to come down on the salmon. We can keep the status quo and keep all the dams and we will not have salmon and we will not have a unique species of killer whale in our waters. Democrats and Republicans over the decades have supported the Army Corp of engineering in putting in the various dams. If we want orcas some of the dams on the lower Columbia need to come out opening up some of the snake river. This would put 50 to 500 million more Coho into he Pacific and into our waters feeding the Orcas and preserving natives way of life and what is truly one of the great gifts of nature on the Pacific Northwest. Ultimately if this gift is squandered we can not blame the Republicans or the Democrats as we are at fault. As we collectively have made the same choices for decades. Take the dams out and we will have salmon for generations, leave them in and the runs will become smaller and smaller and become less biologically feasible. I guess we will blame global warming if the salmon go extinct, but they can survive a warmer Earth and have in the past.

Somehow you managed to get it exactly backwards. The Lower Columbia dams have fish ladders. It’s the Snake River dams that need to come out. If they don’t, removing the Lower Columbia dams (which isn’t going to happen) would do nothing for the salmon runs.
However, I and my fellow wild creatures appreciate your willingness to back dam removal to save the salmon and your solicitude for the orcas. It’s the thought that most counts. The fish and whales thank you for thinking of them.
Of course, if you’re serious about wildlife, fish, and whale conservation, then you can’t possibly support Trump or his environmental vandalism.

While the feds have a hand in this with the Army corp of Engineers local politics count. Shortbus,
have you ever in you life even bothered to go to a precinct meeting for any party of any kind? Forget it. I know the answer.
You’re like some sad Goth kid. You think being cynical implies you have some understanding of “hidden truth” all the “normies” can’t see. But you’ve just assumed a pose to cover for your vast insecurities. The majority of the time you have absolutely no direct contact with anything in real life. And that’s probably why you need to rely on a phony like Jimmy Dore. Thing is, he’s had no direct contact with anything real either.
If you can’t be bothered to even fucking attend a meeting I don’t really care what you think about my party’s delegate process. Same goes for Jimmy Dore. You lazy slugs are complaining about the party processes of a political party you don’t belong to.
Shortbus, you are a Republican. You’ve said as much. You are on record on these comment threads. You’re stuck with that. So maybe I can’t blame stains like you for trying to make everyone else look as corrupt as you are. But with Vladimir PornSweat calling all your shots you’ll just never get there. You guys now officially stand for unapologetic finger rape, campaign finance corruption, torturing four-year-olds, groping high schoolers, trillion dollar annual deficits, Tiki Torch Klan Rallies, and $15,000 office furniture. You cheat on your wife with money you stole and then throw her under the bus for it. That’s who you are now. You did this to yourself. Democrats had absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with it. The guys who look for the good in Nazis can’t teach anybody anything about democracy.

47
Roger Rabbitspews:
@37 They’re not serious. They couldn’t close the strait for more than a few days, and they would take a pounding. It’s a suicide mission. They know this. Their jawing is designed to rattle oil markets, not threaten western governments.
There’s an easier way to disrupt the oil trade than by mining the strait or fighting western warships. All they have to do is sink one oil tanker, with plenty of fat targets to choose from, and insurance rates will go through the roof. Then shipping companies will pull their vessels out of the region.
Of course, the panelists would have gotten it if they weren’t blindfolded or were given his name. Just mentioning “mountains” probably would have been clue enough.

54
Roger Rabbitspews:
@43 “It’s a Washington state issue, and a Pacific northwest issue. ”
You think Trump’s policies don’t have an impact on Puget Sound or the Columbia River? If you take a close look at salmon management, you’ll see multiple federal agencies involved. Plus oodles of federal money being spent on salmon recovery. Here’s a couple links to get you started.
Meanwhile, the U.S.-Canada Columbia River Treaty is up for renewal, and the best thing Trump can do is stay as far away from the negotiations as possible.
“The dams on the Columbia need to come out because it’s just to create an unnecessary port up river when the grain can be shipped via rail car, and the electric turbines replaced by waterwheels.”
That would be the Snake River dams, the port in question being Lewiston, Idaho. Those dams are not “on the Columbia,” unless you consider the Snake River a stretch of the Columbia River — no one else does; everyone treats it as a tributary of the Columbia. If what you’re trying to say is the Snake River dams should be breached, there’s a movement for that, but it hasn’t gotten past Republicans in Congress or the lobbying of Idaho agricultural and business interests. Yes, barging grain is MUCH cheaper than rail, which is why there’s so much resistance to dam removal.
“and the electric turbines replaced by waterwheels”
What?? The Snake River dams produce about 3,000 megawatts — roughly 15% of BPA’s total generating capacity, and 5% of the Pacific Northwest’s electricity — and you’re going to replace that with water wheels?
Look, Trump is a showman. It’s what he does. Right now, he’s the P. T. Barnum of politics, with a clown act and jugglers but not much else. Don’t expect substance from this guy.
And even circus acts go off the rails sometimes, like when the trapeze artist falls and breaks his neck. Make what you will of the analogy.
This is what management interference with news reporting, aka censorship, looks like in real life:
“A Bloomberg News reporter who covered Wells Fargo was reassigned earlier this year after the bank’s CEO called the news organization’s editor in chief and complained about the reporter, multiple people familiar with the matter told CNN.
The incident rocked part of the banking team, the people familiar with the matter said, and was a contributing factor in the departures of some of the unit’s veteran reporters.”
Roger Rabbit Commentary: Bloomberg isn’t exactly a traditional news org. Subscriptions cost $20k a year. But for that kind of money, subscribers should get straight skinny, not doctored info. It seems obvious that Wells Fargo, a criminal banking organization if there ever was one, shouldn’t be editing stories about itself in an information source pitched to investors.
(Full disclosure: Roger Rabbit owns Wells Fargo stock. If we’re going to allow criminal behavior by banks, I’d rather be on the dividend-cashing end than the victimized-customer end of that deal.)

Lanny Davis, a spokesman and attorney for Cohen, said in an interview this weekend that he is no longer certain about claims he made to reporters on background and on the record in recent weeks about what Cohen knows about Trump’s awareness of the Russian efforts.
Separately, Davis was also unable to confirm that Hillary Clinton was named after Sir Edmund Hillary.

Iran says it has control of Gulf and Strait of Hormuz: report
A top navy general in Iranian said Monday the country took full control of the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, a major shipping route that the Iranians threatened to block in the past amid worsening American-Iranian relations.
The Tasnim news agency reported the announcement by the head of the Revolutionary Guards navy, General Alireza Tangsiri, according to Reuters.
http://www.foxnews.com/world/2.....eport.html
There once was a time during which this type of event would rattle the markets worldwide. I think that’s no longer the case for a couple of reasons:
1. Fracking and pipelines. Iran wants to close the Strait? Um, OK. Let ’em. We’ve got other sources, and only last week we were talking about selling part of the Strategic Oil Reserve.
2. There’s a new sheriff in town. Trump sets a few battleships and a carrier off toward the Strait, and Iran’s likely to fold like a cheap suit.
Iran’s reeling. This is good.

Sir Ed was a great humanitarian, one of the best ever. After becoming world famous, he spent the rest of his life building schools and medical clinics in Nepal. The only thing he wore on his sleeve was his amiability and humility, and his was a life devoted to the service of others.
Trump, not so much. I have a feeling that in an election pitting Hillary against Trump, Doctor Dumbfuck would vote for the cretin and then crow about how Hillary will never be president, and then go out to the barn and fuck his wife’s horse.

You are probably right again, of course, that Shortbus may have no point at all.
But the regular pimping of Jimmy Dore videos is more than just random noise. Maybe Shortbus is a bot that earns part of its money from rather low quality placements like these. That might actually make sense. That’s just about how cheap Jimmy Dore is.
Roger Rabbit spews:
@9 Do you need the appellation explained, or did you get that?
P.S., I didn’t make that one up (or “Doctor Dumbfuck,” either), or remember who did, but in both cases it fits very nicely.
Roger Rabbit spews:

“Iran says it has control of Gulf and Strait of Hormuz”
Who cares? We’re going to be energy independent for the rest of time. Trump said so. Let the Iranians use all that Persian Gulf oil to grease the axles of their donkey carts. We don’t care. Hell, we’re exporting oil. And if we need to import oil, we can get it from Canada. Wake me up when the Iranian Navy blockades the U.S.-Canada border.

Mark Adams spews:

If you can’t be bothered to even fucking attend a meeting I don’t really care what you think about my party’s delegate process. Same goes for Jimmy Dore. You lazy slugs are complaining about the party processes of a political party you don’t belong to.
