In short, and as usual, the Roypublicans fucked up again by being lazy, disorganized, and unwilling to operate within existing legal frameworks.
She never had a security clearance. So she never signed the actual, for realsies, legally binding security clearance NDA that all security clearance holders must sign. So she was never bound to pre-publication clearance. So she can do whatever the fuck she wants. And in the event that the Dumbfuck Roypublicans playing with their own shit who run the day-to-day at the White House shared classified information with her, that’s on them.
The whole things a fucking distraction. But it’s still fun to watch the evil bastards squirm like this. Especially when, once again, they are doing it entirely to themselves

@1 That’s what happens when you rely on Republican lawyers. Dino Rossi learned a similar lesson in 2004. The Democrats’ lead lawyer in the election contest case, Jenny Durkan, explained to me exactly how Rossi’s lawyers blew it when we were at the Governor’s Mansion celebrating Gregoire’s victory. Republicans have stupid lawyers. Not as stupid as their clients, but close.
Rossi won, then the King County Politburo moved in to do its razzle-dazzle. So much for free and fair elections in this state.
