BREAKING: FBI says Jan. 5 tip about the suspected Florida school shooter was received by FBI’s Public Access Line but “protocols were not followed” to escalate the tip for further investigation – http://NBCNews.com
24
@godwinhaspews:
Yeah, but did the tipster say what date and time it was gonna happen? Why, no, he didn’t. Nothing to see here, people. Move along.
On Jan. 5, the caller left information on Cruz’s “gun ownership, desire to kill people, erratic behavior, and disturbing social media posts, as well as the potential of him conducting a school shooting,” the FBI said in a statement.
You can’t blame the FBI for everything. The Bureau seems to have gotten this one right, for instance:
Former NYC Teacher, Brother Accused of Trying to Build Bombs, Paying Students to Disassemble Fireworks
Christian Toro and his brother, Tyler Toro, were arrested by the FBI Thursday morning after authorities found a bomb-making manual on the teacher’s school-issued laptop, 30 pounds of chemicals and household materials used to create explosives in their apartment, a diary that referenced “operation flash” and a handwritten note in a bookbag that said “under the full moon the small ones will know terror.”
He was a bad teacher and I am sure his union would have caught up with him, eventually. After all, people like this guy don’t pay their NEA dues.

Indeed, the chief GOP sponsor of the compromise found an upside in what seemed like a wasted exercise: Republicans now have a much better sense of how far the minority will bend on immigration.

Mueller laid down a marker because he had to. Obviously a bunch of Russians would have been caught up and indicted sooner or later. But with RoyPutin Senators mailing off phony letters accusing the FBI of treason, Nunes walling off RoyPutin committee staff so they can obstruct in privacy, and the slow-mo Saturday Night Massacre fully underway with Brand being shoved aside, it seems like a good time for Mueller to drive another peg into the ground.
I still think the man-baby is going to fire him. It’s just that now it’ll cost even more.
39
@godwinhaspews:
@ 38
Of course he had to. There’s much more evidence of collusion by the FBI against Trump than there is of collusion by Trump officials with Russians.
Oh. After today’s indictment announcements, there still is.
On September 15, 2017, reports broke that Facebook had turned over ads bought by Russian entities during the 2016 campaign to special counsel Robert Mueller. On September 21, after congressional investigators asked Facebook for the ads, Facebook sent them to Congress too. And on the early morning of September 22, Trump decried the move, calling it part of the “Russia hoax” — Trump shorthand for the “Russia-collusion narrative (which) is a hoax.”
In fact, the indictment makes it damn clear that the “ads on Facebook” Trump was referring to in September were not part of some “deep state” hoax to make it look like Russia meddled in the election. They were, in fact, part of a hoax perpetrated by Russia to meddle in the election.
Heh. Unwitting… In their craving for power, more than willing to be duped.

Elijah Dominic McDotcomspews:
-President Trump’s National Security Advisor Michael Flynn came under intense investigation because prior to his appointment he was observed fucking around with sanctions over the holidays in 2016 and lying about it to anyone he could get to listen, including the FBI.
-Attorney General Sessions was caught, and admitted to lying to Congressional committees during his confirmation hearings about his multiple meetings with foreign agents to discuss Russian sanctions.
-Subsequently the Attorney General recused himself from any oversight of the DOJ’s and FBI’s investigation of Flynn and others possibly involved in Russian sanction deals.
-The President summoned the FBI Director to his office and instructed him to “lay off” the investigation of Flynn.
-When the FBI Director failed to do so, The President fired him, which triggered the appointment of a Special Prosecutor to remove the investigation from interference.
-After initially lying about his reasons, the President admitted that he fired the FBI Director because he continued to pursue the investigation into Flynn despite his objections to it.
-The President then proceeded to berate and bully the Attorney General for not retaining direct oversight of the investigation in order to protect him and sought to fire him as well.
-The President then inquired if Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein would be willing to fire the Special Prosecutor, who replied that he would only do so “for just cause” and not to interfere with the investigation.
-The President then ordered the White House Counsel to have the Special Prosecutor fired. The White House Counsel refused.
-The President has continued to threaten to have the Special Prosecutor fired.
That’s only a limited part of what has now become the accepted narrative as it relates to President Stupid and the Russia investigation. Whether or not any of this amounts to obstruction will depend in part on a ton of small details we have yet to learn, and how lawyers and judges interpret the meaning of “official acts”.
Was he acting as “President”?

45 is claiming advertising doesn’t have any impact. He’s a really smart businessman.
54
WTF!?spews:
Next time it rains here is something for Bob. An example of American Exceptionslism. This family must be related to Mike Pence.
Some of the liberal leaning punditry are describing the Grand Jury Indictments as some kind of master political stroke for Rosenstein. They describe the presser as Rosenstein heroically managing the messaging surrounding the investigation and these latest indictments in order to shield himself and Mueller from the Raging Man-Baby.
I doubt it. There is probably nothing more than formal communication between Mueller and Rosenstein. They are almost certainly not a team. And it’s very clear that Mueller has no interest in acting as a press agency for DOJ on the investigation. So Mueller is probably happy to either let the media learn about events through official publication or, if the Deputy prefers it, through a press conference with the Deputy at the podium. But I see almost no chance that Mueller would be conferring with the Deputy regarding the potential timing of events and his Grand Jury moves. Mueller has a very good team of his own to consult with, many of whom have more experience with complex criminal investigations.
Still the Brand expulsion from DOJ is a bigger deal than most of us want to admit. And Rosenstein has probably done himself a favor by putting himself in front of a bunch of cameras for this. However I don’t think he’s saved himself or Mueller. If Mueller has an interest in outflanking the Man-Baby and the Treason Party it is only to preserve the investigation in the interest of justice. Rosenstein is an office-seeking suck up who would like to replace Jeff Sessions. My guess is Rosenstein would find “cause” to fire Mueller if he were promised the AG’s job. The trick is how to hang on long enough to make that happen.

Demorat FISA Death March News – Coverup Falling Apart, Records Will Come Out
The head of a top secret surveillance court, in an unusual letter to GOP lawmakers, seemed to put pressure on the Justice Department to consider releasing documents related to the 2016 surveillance warrant granted against a Trump campaign aide.
The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) was responding to requests from the House Intelligence and House Judiciary committees for transcripts of hearings and other documents related to the applications to spy on Trump aide Carter Page.
Republicans claim the Obama FBI relied heavily on the unverified anti-Trump dossier in their application and failed to adequately disclose the document’s Democratic funding.
But in two letters from the court Thursday, Judge Rosemary M. Collyer made clear to Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., and his House Judiciary Committee counterpart — Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Va. — that the information would be better obtained from the Justice Department.
“While this analysis is underway, you may note that the Department of Justice possesses (or can easily obtain) the same responsive information the Court might possess, and because of separation of powers considerations, is better positioned than the Court to respond quickly,” Collyer wrote to Nunes.
Collyer added that the court does not object to the Executive Branch giving such information to Congress. She noted in her other letter that Goodlatte already has made such a request to the DOJ and FBI.
…seemed to put pressure on the Justice Department…
She told them to piss up a rope.
You people should stay the fuck out of the Derp end.
Guess which of the co-equal branches is granted the authority under the constitution to analyze the sufficiency of warrant applications? Give up? Of course you do.
Big Hint: it isn’t the legislative branch.
Big follow up: If Chairman Nunes and the rest of the treasonous propeller heads really objected to the way the FISC grants surveillance warrants they can change the fucking statute you simpering pinhead. Instead they just reauthorized it with nary a change. Get back to your trailer and resume soaking your feet before you hurt yourselves.

I lost because I am hated by the people I called “deplorable.” That comment, along with my smug, self-righteous belief that I was owed the presidency because I was a woman and a Liberal progressive did a lot to motivate the fly-over country and other states to vote for Trump.
In short, I lost because I thought the election was in the bag and I deserved to win because I deserved to win. Also, I ran a crappy campaign and had the village idiots working for me.

Indeed, the chief GOP sponsor of the compromise found an upside in what seemed like a wasted exercise: Republicans now have a much better sense of how far the minority will bend on immigration.
