I’m sure Bob is loving this one. You know, he likes to post comments when some “moderate” Democrat goes against the Liberal grain.
“”I was shocked that after the Vice President worked for almost a year in a divisive and partisan way to take healthcare away from almost 200,000 West Virginians, bankrupt our hospitals, and push tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans and huge corporations that he would come to West Virginia and continue his partisan attacks,” Manchin told NBC.”
Sleepy Ben Carson, “inspired” by pork no doubt, is…
TOTALLY CORRUPT!
“A little less than three months later, according to federal records, CMS awarded a $485,000 contract to the consulting company Myriddian, whose chief executive is Merlynn Carson. Carson Jr. identifies himself online as one of Myriddian’s board members. The contract was awarded without a competitive bidding process, federal records show, although a CMS spokesman said multiple minority-owned firms were considered.”
And how did we learn of this? The Russians bragged about it! Just like they bragged about yukking it up with Drumpf. An event the american press was barred from.

@godwinhaspews:
Trump’s numbers are climbing. So is approval of the tax cut law.
Apparently fewer people believe the Armageddon bullshit.
14
Roger Rabbitspews:
Last night Trump crowed about how great the economy is doing. As an investor, I’m less sanguine. Here’s why:
“U.S. consumer spending rose solidly in December as demand for goods and services increased, but the gain came at the expense of savings, which dropped to a 10-year low in a troubling sign for future consumption and economic growth.”
In other words, the growth Trump bragged about isn’t an illusion — it’s real enough — but it’s illusory. Consumers spent more freely in the last couple of quarters, but they spent their seed corn to do it, which means this growth bump is nonrecurring. And to the extent it’s also fueled by borrowing, rising interest rates pressure household cash flow and force consumers to cut back even more. There are other signs of trouble in the consumer economy: Slowing auto sales, lower credit quality, rising loan default rates among them. All this doesn’t necessarily mean the next recession is just around the corner, but most economists expect GDP to fall back to 2% – 2.5% shortly. Wall Street understands this. Many consumer staples stocks have actually fallen back this month while the market indexes roared higher. Politicians understand it, too. We’re seeing a flood of Republican retirements. There’s a good chance Trump and the GOP survivors will go into midterms having to explain slow growth, higher loan fees, and higher inflation to voters who were promised miracle fixes for the economy.
15
Stevespews:
“In other words, the growth Trump bragged about isn’t an illusion — it’s real enough — but it’s illusory.”
I’d disagree and say that it is an illusion, at least so for as hopes that this economic growth will last and that benefits will trickle down to the rubes. I was going to point out to Bob @13 that he and Trump’s base of rubes are pinning their hopes on this illusion, and that illusions have always had very lousy futures.
16
Roger Rabbitspews:
@15 U.S. GDP bumped up to 3.1% in 2nd quarter and 3.2% in 3rd quarter of 2017 — those growth bursts were real. But they were one-offs, and similar bumps — including several above 4% — occurred under Obama. See chart linked below.
My point is these bursts of consumer spending were funded at expense of savings. That’s what makes them illusory, even though the fact consumers splurged for part of last year is not an illusion.
17
Roger Rabbitspews:
DoJ will not retry Bob Menendez. He is not destined to be a poster boy of “Democratic corruption.” Trolls will have a sad.

And they’ll find some way to blame Colin Kaepernick for it.
@5 Technically Sergey is not a spy chief. He is the head of their agency. Other people below him are spy chiefs who actually run spies. It’s possible he is a handler for their most important asset, but it’s not at all likely he did any actually spying here, after all he probably had more than a few \FBI guys just following him all over. Could be he remembers the craft, but is probably out of practice. Though it’s always possible he checked out a drop maybe in Chuck Shumers office or under his window, those Russian spy chiefs have a sense of humor, and would get a laugh out of it. And yep call Chuck a stupid American.

@6 Now if only 40 or so of the Democratic dead wood would follow the Republican’s lead, and quit. That would be good for the American people.
Of course all these retirements screws up the Democratic strategy of tying all these retiring Republicans to Trump. And most are from red districts that will most likely go to the Republican candidate. Some of which will be proud Trumpites, and will tell their opponent to stick it. And they will claim the Republics are not the professional politicians the Democrats are.
23
Mark Adamsspews:
@8 Running against Claire he needs some name recognition, and he’s getting it. Good mood for an Attorney General as most citizens can’t remember his name if asked. Not like our Attorney General is gunning for some higher political office. We tax payers are not paying for his political future.

Mark Adamsspews:
@12 Harry Truman would tell good line. Could work in Missouri. What kind of mule does Claire have?
25
Mark Adamsspews:
@15 President’s are not masters of the economy, but they must put the best face on the economy and claim good stuff they are doing. Helps them and their party. As RR two quarters of growth about three percent could be one offs, but they are good enough. Especially if the 4th quarter and 1st quarter of 2018 are also three and above. Three and four quarters of three percent growth are not longer one offs. Wages are rising. And the tax cuts have not really been part of any bump up just yet. Trump seems to understand something Bush Senior did not, that it is the economy baby!!

Also Yellowstone might just might erupt, and that would have massive effects on the environment. Probably have dramatic effects on politics as well. And if all these couches are so dog darned important then we should have no problem paying our Gov more making him the highest paid state employee.
31
Mark Adamsspews:
For those of you who think Sergey should have stayed home here is your chance to tell him.
Talk above by HA libbies @ 14, 15, including one who should know better, who think the GDP increases are not real or, if they are, they are one-offs.
In 2016 real GDP increased 1.6%.
In 2016 real GDP increased 2.7%.
Those are not one-quarter measures.
And Roger Dumbfuck Rabbit, Jesus Fucking Christ. The underperformance in consumer staple stock prices is a rotation from a defensive position to an aggressive position by investors who would rather have their money in stocks that are going to continue to pop, not stocks which rely on sales of Oreos increasing 2% and price increases of 3% no matter how the economy is doing. Roger Dumbfuck Rabbit, people don’t sell consumer staple stocks when the economy is bad. They buy them for defensive purposes when the economy is bad. You stupid, stupid man.
So your argument, Roger Dumbfuck Rabbit, that declines in consumable stock prices reflect a softening economy is 180 degrees wrong.
As usual.

Now that Puget Sound voters have decided to pay roughly $30,000 of taxes over the next 25 years for every man, woman, and child living in the taxing area for the most expensive light rail/subway system every conceived by the spendthrift mind of man, Sound Transit has started experimenting with busing commuters to light rail/subway stations, which generally speaking were designed for pedestrians and cyclists because they have little to no parking.
Of course, for rabbits accustomed to hopping across entire continents to visit (and fuck) their cousins, the lack of facilities for drivers isn’t much of a challenge. But then, what do rabbits need light rail (or its taxes) for? They can hop.

Well, yeah.
Consumer confidence jumps as Americans expect 2017 momentum to continue
Consumer optimism pushed higher than anticipated in January, after a surprise decline the previous month.
The Conference Board’s measure of consumer confidence rose to 125.4 in January, higher than the 123.1 anticipated by economists polled by Reuters. The measure had declined to 122.1 in December.
BTW Roger Dumbfuck Rabbit, that piece was issued on 1/30, which was the second day of your precious 500-point DJIA decline.

These allegations are untrue’. … ” and then went on TV and changed her story?
Given a total lack of corroborating evidence for her rape claims, no lawyer worth a damn would bring a case relying solely on the testimony of a witness like her, but yes, I can see where a dumbfuck doctor with a long track record of partisan dumbfuckery might swallow her allegations whole.

Mondelez is up 7.97% YTD.
Mondelez International, Inc. (MDLZ – Free Report) reported fourth-quarter 2017 results, wherein earnings surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate and revenues came in line with the consensus mark. Adjusted earnings of 57 cents per share beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 56 cents. Adjusted earnings grew 21%, primarily driven by operating gains.

Then he gets onto HA and posts that consumer stocks are down, because his portfolio sucks.
Which makes him an easy target. He’s just wrong so fucking often, because he thinks that Seeking Alpha is a reliable source of information.
Today’s an excellent example with the consumer staple stock thing. He’s absolutely wrong, but because his portfolio is stocked with losers he is led to believe otherwise.

Texas is preparing to execute a former accountant tonight who, in a fit of rage at his ex-wife, shot their two young daughters while she listened to their screams on a phone.
Roger Rabbit Commentary: The legal arguments in this case revolve around whether he’s mentally competent to be executed. Frankly, anybody who’d do this to his own kids has gotta be nuts in some way — domestic disputes do weird things to otherwise rational minds — but that’s not the legal standard used by courts to determine mental competence. I support sparing use of the death penalty in appropriate cases; and, in this case, I think it’s a tossup between putting him away or making him spend the rest of his life in a concrete box. The latter probably is a tougher punishment, but I won’t object whichever way the courts go with his final appeals.

“When (Gowdy) took over oversight we were finally going to get to the bottom of Benghazi and someone would be charged. What is it about the swamp that he couldn’t do it.”
Elementary. After thousands of hours of multiple investigations and millions of dollars spent investigating and theories debunked, ahem stand down, there was no criminality. Elementary. The only conclusion left, though improbable, is no crimes were committed.
But the hard on for Benghazi is way past the ‘consult a physician’ period.

Demorat Impending Doom News – It is cruel to keep dumb animals and Demorats in suspense so I’ll break the FISA memo news to you gently before it all comes out.
Demorats hired Russian and other foreign Demorats to contact the Trump campaign and set up a Russian collusion narrative. This could have worked out well for you, Trump Jr. and others fell for it. Fortunately Demorats are arrogant and stupid and used the set-up evidence to get a FISA warrant. Obtaining a warrant with fabricated evidence was an extremely serious crime, and by implicating judges the Demorat judges are no longer your friends, they will hang you to cover their asses if your scam unravels. Even then had you left well enough alone you might still have made it out alive, but being arrogant and stupid Demorats you used the illegally-obtained FISA intel to get indictments. Now it’s too late to escape, your world is crashing down.

@46 It is more American if voters enact term limits. Also it’s hard to get the folks already in the seats to enact such a constitutional change. You would have to do it at a special constitutional convention. You are talking about the folks that cannot every ten years after the census do their constitutional duty and adjust the number of house representatives up. The current law does not prevent them from increasing the number of house members, and in fact it’s unconstitutional. That too might get rid of dead wood on a more regular basis in the House. The Senate is supposed to the be the more staid part of Congress.

Trump’s numbers are climbing. So is approval of the tax cut law.
Apparently fewer people believe the Armageddon bullshit.
Roger Rabbit spews:
Last night Trump crowed about how great the economy is doing. As an investor, I’m less sanguine. Here’s why:
“U.S. consumer spending rose solidly in December as demand for goods and services increased, but the gain came at the expense of savings, which dropped to a 10-year low in a troubling sign for future consumption and economic growth.”
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-economy-spending/u-s-consumer-spending-rises-savings-drop-to-10-year-low-idUSKBN1FI1NJ
Steve spews:
“In other words, the growth Trump bragged about isn’t an illusion — it’s real enough — but it’s illusory.”
I’d disagree and say that it is an illusion, at least so for as hopes that this economic growth will last and that benefits will trickle down to the rubes. I was going to point out to Bob @13 that he and Trump’s base of rubes are pinning their hopes on this illusion, and that illusions have always had very lousy futures.
Roger Rabbit spews:
@15 U.S. GDP bumped up to 3.1% in 2nd quarter and 3.2% in 3rd quarter of 2017 — those growth bursts were real. But they were one-offs, and similar bumps — including several above 4% — occurred under Obama. See chart linked below.
https://www.statista.com/statistics/188185/percent-chance-from-preceding-period-in-real-gdp-in-the-us/
My point is these bursts of consumer spending were funded at expense of savings. That’s what makes them illusory, even though the fact consumers splurged for part of last year is not an illusion.

Remember the Nunes memo that Trump was “100% certain” to release today? Well, he doesn’t want to be responsible for compromising whatever intelligence it contains and passed the buck back to the House committee, exactly what you’d expect from the chickenshit blowhard he is.

@46 Better voters in a bunch of red states would get the same job done quicker and more effectively.

Roger Rabbit spews:
@49 No, Doctor Dumbfuck is getting revenge for me calling him a Medicare-teat-sucking troll. Like Trump, he takes critical feedback personally.
He’s a stalker, too. See @50. And not just me, he’s stalking Hillary, too. A couple days ago I posted she needs a bodyguard.

@godwinha spews:
@ 53
Roger Dumbfuck Rabbit, because changes to the memo were made after the House Intel Committee approved its release, the White House is referring it back to the same committee for another vote on the revised document.
As Schiff wanted:
Adam Schiff
✔
@RepAdamSchiff
BREAKING: Discovered late tonight that Chairman Nunes made material changes to the memo he sent to White House – changes not approved by the Committee. White House therefore reviewing a document the Committee has not approved for release.
7:00 PM – Jan 31, 2018
So after the additional vote, then the Committee will have approved it for release. Schiff’s concerns addressed, problem solved.
Roger Rabbit spews:
@61 In other words, they’re going to edit out some of the partisan lies because a Democrat on the committee told them to, and Trump doesn’t have the guts to release it until they do. Gotcha.
I’llHaveAPilsner spews:
@61
In other words it is now plain for all to see this it’s not work product of the committee but a poetic document designed to fit the spin.
Y’all have spent weeks flogging this is the end of Mueller. Whoops
Elijah Dominic McDotcom spews:
59,
replying to yourself at 46? Try not to make a habit of it. Or maybe stop doubling your Klonopin dosage.
Let’s face it, these fucking hillbilly dilettantes paddling around in the derp end are why we have the Orange Shit-gibbon poised to obliterate the west coast with a rage-Tweet. The idea that democracy is easy or that all it takes is just some plain ol’ common sense and a six pack of fizzy beer will lead to our ruin.
This moron didn’t know that term limits were ruled out by the Supremes twenty years ago until his lazy hillbilly ass was forced to google it. What passes for wisdom and common sense in the bot-ruled social media bubbles of the modern movement conservative makes Middle School social studies look like a graduate seminar. These people are simply too dumb to be allowed to vote. And it is our duty to discourage them at every turn.
Pro tip: It isn’t “elitist” when it’s true.

@64 Discourage them, yes; prevent them, no. Preventing people from voting is what dictators and Republicans do. Liberals are for enabling every citizen to vote, even dumb-as-a-brick hillbillies. It’s a principle.
Elijah Dominic McDotcom spews:
68,
I like the idea of encouraging poor people to vote, while simultaneously convincing poor racists that to do so would be a waste of valuable arm-fishing time.
59 might have spent time researching the legal issues surrounding term limitations before spewing ignorant bullshit. But honestly. Is that ever really going to happen? Pin heads like that sincerely believe that everything they need to know to be an informed participant in civic debate can be had with the right mix of Facebook follows and news feeds. 50 million bot generated accounts might argue otherwise.
I think the answer lies in giving these racist meat bags some other highly monetized white male dominated arena to vicariously obsess over. What’s wrong with NASCAR?
I’llHaveAPilsner spews:
Clock’s ticking so let’s have a retreat.
By the time they get back in session Yertle will have three days to bring a DACA bill to the floor or face a shutdown with no one to blame.
One actually as the Democratic retreat has been scheduled for months to start on the 7th. “We’re only in Maryland. If Yertle brings the DACA bill to the floor we’ll be there but there’s no point talking continuing resolution until he does. This was the explicit condition of ending the shutdown and the GOP can’t and won’t do it.”
Elijah Dominic McDotcom spews:
Looks like the Nunes MEMGHAZI!!! memo originated at the White House. Nunes is now refusing to discuss it or answer any questions. Credibility much? Too bad, really. The MEMGHAZI memo was crucial to #FREECARTERPAGE!

In many RW radio and blogs today there’s a theme regarding Gowdy.

Mark Adams spews:
@46 It is more American if voters enact term limits. Also it’s hard to get the folks already in the seats to enact such a constitutional change. You would have to do it at a special constitutional convention. You are talking about the folks that cannot every ten years after the census do their constitutional duty and adjust the number of house representatives up. The current law does not prevent them from increasing the number of house members, and in fact it’s unconstitutional. That too might get rid of dead wood on a more regular basis in the House. The Senate is supposed to the be the more staid part of Congress.
