It’s too ironic. If you’re so ideologically committed to a flat tax then you should be full stop opposed to widening income inequality. All productivity gains in the US economy since the early 70’s have mostly benefited the wealthy. Inflation adjusted median household income since then has barely budged. Recent gains for the wealthy have broken all records. The only solution to this is government intervention, taxing this rigged system for the rich and redistributing in the form of services like health care and education and income support of various kinds for the elderly, disabled and working people. No, not socialism per se but social democracy definitely.
