Passing off pre-prepared frozen food direct from Sysco or Food Services of America at a 125% mark-up is a dying business model. Too many Millennials know about food service work and won’t pay for food that came from the factory to the freezer to the truck to the plate with only a little heat (microwave) added on site.
Add that as someone who has close and extended family in the Restaurant business my entire life I can spot the “direct from the freezer” items just by glancing at the menu. And if your menu approaches 50% of those kinds of items your restaurant goes into, “Only eat in the airport or if you find yourself in West Texas” file in my brain.
I read that Trump was in AZ for a rally last night. AZ’s a popular place for holding rallies. #CrookedHillary was there on November 2nd last year.
Apparently she preferred AZ to, say, MI. Although rallying in MI would have enabled her to hit WI on the same day.

I can’t think of a single one of the other potential Republican nominees who would have been capable of such incompetence.
Claims that Fuckface voters might be able to get away with:
-He ran a better campaign.
-He had more of the right kind of help.
-His identity politics were better in populous swing states and key primaries.
-Republican general election voters are historically more party loyal.
And perhaps hate media programmed meat heads can be forgiven for buying his phony business track record. You remember those pretty, popular Christian girls and boys that everyone knew in High School? They were always fashionably dressed, wore the right makeup, everyone “liked” them because they were such nice people and they dated the perfect, handsome football heroes and cheerleaders. They were themselves cheerleaders or sports heroes and always seemed to get perfect grades. They did all the right extracurricular activities that helped them get into College. They never got in trouble, never got knocked up, never seemed to have to work very hard to be the perfect little angels. They were never “sluts” (at least where anyone could see) and their boyfriends all grew up to be honest businessmen in middle management of some bank, insurance or paint manufacturing company that was old, well established and respected. They always married the “correct” people.
That’s what they turn in to when they get old. They never really had to put any serious effort into doing anything. Everything they were interested in always came naturally to them without much emotional effort on their part. They loved their Pastors and church groups, they never associated with any of the Dirty Hippie People who never went to Church or had long hair, used drugs and had unfashionable manners of dress and personal comport.
25 years ago, I started realizing that there were a lot of people that hated their parents. I mean, really hated. They never spoke to them, never wanted anything to do with them, didn’t want their own kids to have anything to do with them. I guess I first noticed that when one of my best Buds came out as gay right at the end of high school and his parents threw him out of the house. He was never really homeless, he surfed peoples sofas and kept himself employed pretty well so he could eat.
I ran into him when I moved back to Palo Alto in ’88. Hung out with him and drank beers and smoked dope with him and his buddies. They were all gay of course, and being in my mid-20s and fully heterosexual it was a little disconcerting that he had melded into the Bay Area gay culture the way he did. It was really the first time I had to deal with the culture as an adult human. But he was healthy, happy and intelligent and had completed his Master’s in Fine Arts at San Francisco University.
They were a fun crowd to hang out with. He was working for some research company in San Francisco. He also hadn’t spoken to his parents since the day his father threw him bodily out of the house because he was a SINNER. His sister was around, I guess they were still close but aside from the one conversation we had on the subject, his parents were never mentioned, at all.
Since then I’ve met dozens of people who never spoke with or had any contact whatsoever with their parents. There was real abuse, alcoholism, manipulations, things that would be called felonies if some authority would have become involved at some point. One girl I went to high school with, who was always going to Switzerland for Christmas or Paris in the summer and always threw great parties discovered when she went off to College that her parents had taken out dozens of credit cards in her name from the time she was a baby, and had stopped making payments on them when she turned 18. So her credit was permanently fucked, and fucked hard. She hadn’t spoken to her parents in over 20 years when I saw her last.
There are a lot of folks in those kind of situations, so now I understand how people could write their parents off that way. Much of the time it seems to be for the reason that their parents were hard core Asshole Conservative Right-Wingers who turned out to just be ignorant, selfish, lying, stupid bigots that no adult could stand to be around for more than a few minutes at a time, because of the sheer nastiness and selfishness they constantly displayed to people including their own grandchildren.
People that any reasonable person could honestly call “deplorable”.
