What a great idea to end homelessness! Just make it illegal to be homeless. Doy. Most people enjoy sleeping in tent cities and on benches so much that the only way you can possibly incentivize them against it is criminalizing it.

We can all agree that people with a criminal record are the ones we do best at integrating back into society. I mean look at how well it worked for drugs.

    We’ll skip past that each member is elected to office and serving on the board is part of that office to focus elsewhere.

    Rossi ran for governor. He lost. Famously. Then he ran for Governor again. He lost. Then he ran for U.S. Senate. He lost. Then he was appointed to a state Senate seat now held by Democrat (kinda) Mark Mullet. Now he is an appointed, not elected state Senator filling the seat of the late Andy Hill.

    You sure you want to talk about elections and facing the voters, Dino?

    Some of the most entertaining reading in the realm of political conspiracy history are the transcribed phone conversations between a paranoid and rapidly decomposing Nixon and his senior political advisers who, as the walls were closing in, realized that Nixon would begin giving them up to save himself. Some of the finest examples of brown-nosing and executive butt smooching in history. These guys were really giving it all they had trying to keep themselves out of prison. And remember, this was a President they all deeply respected, not just for the office, but for his redemption of the Party, his long service in government, and his accomplishments.

    The prospect of hours of recordings of guys like Mike Pompeo, H.R. McMaster, or Bannon giving their lick spittle all before the vast overshadowing orange anus gives me hope for a brighter future.

    US Senator Roland Burris voted Yes on the Affordable Care Act. Without him, the vote would not have passed the Senate.

    Roland Burris was appointed, not elected. And yet here we are, with Obamacare thelawoftheland.

    Something about this bothered me. Burris was a reasonable point to make, but I then remembered I have an even better one.

    Cz-252, Rossi was appointed to fill the seat of a dead elected state senator, correct?

    US Senator Ted Kennedy died in office. Paul Kirk was appointed to replace him until a special election could be held. Kirk voted Yes on Obamacare.

    Further, Ted Kaufman was appointed to Joe Biden’s Delaware Senate seat, was not elected, and voted yes on Obamacare.

    So there were three, not one, US Senators who were not elected to their respective offices, and yet still were able to vote for a law which affects 17% (that was the number Warren Buffett gave last week) of the US economy, the unfortunately named Affordable Care Act.

    As I said, Cz-252, you made an incredibly weak argument.

    I don’t blame anyone. Although I really would have loved to see JJ Jr. in the seat. I don’t think his fall from grace received the coverage it deserved, as he was merely a House member.

    Further, his request for a moment of silence in the House, in order to mourn the loss of pedophile Michael Jackson, would have played out as far funnier if he had received the type of coverage a US Senator would have received.

He also was appointed — by a group of electeds called the “Electoral College.” And for many, many years after the founding of our country ALL of the U.S. Senators were appointed — by their respective state legislatures.

    The thing is, their votes on bills that came before them still counted.
