Cleveland has agreed to pay Tamir Rice’s family $6 million for the wrongful death of their son. He was playing with a toy gun in a public park when gunned down by a trigger-happy rookie cop who’d been sacked by another police department as “unfit for duty.” That’s a lot of money, but I’m sure they’d rather have their son. (Source: CBS News)
Meanwhile, the two cops involved in the incident got off the hook. Event though a judge found probable cause, a grand jury declined to indict them. So far as I know, they’re still on duty, drawing pay and earning pension time, prowling the streets of Cleveland. As usual, taxpayers will pick up the tab for what they did to an innocent kid.
By the way, the kid was black and the cops were white. Are you outraged yet? Does throwing $6 million of other people’s money at it make anything better?

Something tells me they won’t be calling part-timers ‘hidden’ in a Cruz/Fiorina administration. They’ll be front-and-center and ‘What are you going to do about this?’ will be demanded by every liberal around.
Excluding the Great Recession, the 6 million Americans who work part-time but want full-time jobs today are at the highest level in about 30 years or so. The number has come down since its peak during the recession but some experts believe America now has a “new normal” — a permanently high number of part-timers.
Experts call these jobs “hidden unemployment” because these people are capable of working more hours than they can get
Hey, remember when Pelosi touted underemployment as an Obamacare feature?
Pelosi: CBO Report Shows Obamacare Gives Americans Freedom to ‘Follow Their Passion.’
“What we see is that people are leaving their jobs because they are no longer job-locked,” House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) told reporters after House votes Tuesday afternoon. “They are following their aspirations to be a writer; to be self-employed; to start a business. This is the entrepreneurial piece. So it’s not going to cost jobs. It’s going to shift how people make a living and reach their aspirations.”
Pelosi said she hadn’t “fully” seen the report, but, “this was one of the goals. To give people life, a healthy life, liberty to pursue their happiness. And that liberty is to not be job-locked, but to follow their passion.”
@5 Technically ISIS is a government one that our government does not recognize, While our government does recognize other groups in Syria which the Syrians call terrorists. Syria is just one place a proper civil war is taking place. Usually groups aren’t organized enough to do more than be low level revolutionaries or terrorists. ISIS though is organized, has power and is willing to use that power. Depending on which end of the stick your on you might call the power ISIS has force. However the Force probably isn’t with them. It has too many other things to deal with in a galaxy far far away.
