    Stick a Fork in Ben Carson
    Carson: A weak person isn’t selected by CNN and Time magazine as one of the 20 foremost physicians and surgeons in America. That was before they discovered that I’m conservative. A weak person doesn’t have all of these honorary degrees. Most people of accomplishment have one, maybe two or three honorary degrees at most. It’s the highest award that a university gives out. I have 67. That’s probably not indicative of a weak person who doesn’t get things done.

    Costa: Has this campaign helped or hurt that reputation, that legacy?

    Carson: Without question, it will hurt it. But it’s not about me. I’m willing to sacrifice that legacy and that reputation if we can get our country turned around. One person is not a big deal as far as I’m concerned.

    If Carson thought there were the slightest chance that he’d win the nomination, he’d certainly not answer that question by saying that “without question” the campaign will end up hurting his reputation.

    You can stick a fork in him. His presidential ambitions are done.

    Last week’s murders-by-cop included a grandmother gunned down by Chicago cops shooting at a mentally disturbed young man with a baseball bat (who also was killed). Today’s litany of killings committed by trigger-happy cops includes 3 cops shot to death by a cop at Puerto Rico police station and a security guard shot by cops in Atlanta.

    Roger Rabbit Commentary: Maybe it’s time to disarm cops, or at least send them to anger management classes, before the USA gets completely depopulated.

    @2 I grew up in Chicago. It wasn’t until I left that it really hit me what a horribly racist place it was. It’s one of many reasons the place is sinking fast to become another largely failed big city. It’s a dark, backward place. But the food is good.

    A Cleveland grand jury has refused to indict the cops who killed 12-year-old Tamir Rice. The prosecutor called these cops “victims” of “a perfect storm of errors.” Cops who killed a kid are victims? Really? This irresponsible choice of words is certain to inflame a situation already destined to get ugly in Cleveland’s streets very soon now.

    Bernie says that blue collar types are supporting trump because they are angry about tuition, and income inequality.

    Not sure he has that right. The might be angry but they’ve been brainwashed to be angry at Democrats.

    My friend, who earns $150,000 and his wife, who earns the same or more, both like trump. I wonder why he supports Trump? His Mom is a big time Democrat, but somehow (maybe it was the football or the wrestling in high school and college) he never got her brains.

    I think people like him get a taste of wealth, and 1.) are upset that they still don’t have a million – envious of the richy rich rich. and 2) blame it on the poor, that they aren’t richer.

    Not sure why his daily golf playing at a posh country club hasn’t chilled him out – he must not be happy with himself or life. Never satisfied I guess. Want more and more and more.

    Sure I’d love to win the lottery, but I’d give most of the money away. I try every saturday and wednesday, but I got everything I truly need and a little more.

    @12 well he might have a million or a little over per say in assets and belongings but I doubt he has a million sitting in savings/checking account. And what I meant was millions enough not to be able to quit his job. He lives golf and beer. And he hates his job that he told me many times that he wanted to quit and many times truly contemplating to do it so he could coach football or wrestling. Or just drink or play golf all day. But he couldn’t so I do t think he had millions, otherwise he would have quit.

    And those salaries are current salaries, probably excluding bonuses and benefits, like paid vehicles. But they are only 50-51, and they didn’t make that money starting after college, after 20 something years old. They probably didn’t hit that 150,000 salary up until maybe 5 years ago.

    Well they have two kids, sons, that played sports and they belonged to country club (again he lives golf – he left work at 2:00 many times a week just to play, he was/is pretty lucky no one keeps track of him).

    They lived in a modest home once first married, maybe current value today would be 160,000. But moved to a nicer town in thier second home ever maybe know valued at 350,000, only because of the town they live in. It’s not a bad house but for the town it’s in it was on the low end and in my opinion was kind of cheaply built. Anyways they probably still owe money on it. And they were true believers of borrowing against equity instead of paying down debt (they are Republican CONSERVATIVES, right?). They lived a bit lavishly but not overly extravagant in things. Until maybe within the last 5-7 years, buying the Lexus, as maybe their highest purchase other than the houses, and country club membership.

    Anyways things looking much better for them now. Now the Country Club membership is even being paid by wife’s employer as a benefit to her.

    I’m sure the government takes a good chunk as they are also putting the two boys through some good colleges, and maybe paying for the majority of it.

    I do feel for them, the cost of college is crazy, but they are probably helping thier boys out in part or full but I don’t know that for a fact.

    One of the things he was upset about was that Hillary (not Bernie) was going to make college free and that that is crazy. He thinks it will put private colleges out of business??

    But I like him and his wife. Just don’t know why they like The Hump other than they think all the poor and illegals are taking all thier money.

    Other than the ridiculous cost of college, I think they should be pretty happy with respect to money and life, but they are angry enough to like the Hump.

    I’m sure they have a million or close in 401k but that’s for later in life.

    Republicans, being the pesssimists and the beings that never want to turn to the rich to help solve any problems, see the future as bleak. They know that jobs will be scarce, the environment unlivable and dwindling resources. Therefor they look at illegals and the takers as their demise and as competition to them.

    Instead of trying to lead with solutions they would rather stomp thier feet and go down fighting untill there isn’t enough oxygen.

    When it comes to abortion they really don’t care about life, what pisses them off is that someone is getting away with something that they think they would never do, and jealousy gets to them. They certainly don’t care about all human life.

    That lawmakers sponsor bills they haven’t read is common. Still, it’s disappointing on one of this political magnitude. Not counting a long table, it’s only an eight-page bill.

    And here are the kicker responses…

    – One, Sen. Adam Kline, D-Seattle, a lawyer who typically is hyper-attuned to civil-liberties issues, said he did not know the bill authorized police searches because he had not read it closely before signing on.

    – The prime sponsor, Sen. Ed Murray, D-Seattle, also condemned the search provision in his own bill, after I asked him about it. He said Palmer is right that it’s probably unconstitutional.

    DUMMOCRETINS law makers didn’t read the bill they sponsored? DAYUM!

    The reason Wilson and now Loehmann and Garmback got a fairer shake isn’t just because prosecutors are biased towards cops, it’s because the prosecutor wanted to offload the decision on whether to indict to an impartial body rather than make it himself, as the D.A. almost always does.

    @20 Yeah, he offloaded it to that impartial body by (a) allowing only one expert witness, partial to the police, to testify; and (b) allowing the accused cops to testify without being subject to cross-examination.
