Sorry to see things are going this badly for you.
If the collapse of your party and the fracturing of movement conservatism scares you you might consider what got you here. As Roger alluded in another thread, dismissing the nativist fears of “Reagan Democrats” and fiercely clinging to supply side bullshit destroyed your party’s credibility with less religious working class voters. You yourself have relentlessly pandered to a collection of chauvinistic terrors which you know the party’s financial backers will not permit to be addressed through legislation. Those poor saps have to do something with all that fear and anger.
So FWIW my advice would be to forget about the Latino vote for now. You folks need to mend fences with the working class whites and then develop some new ways to scare them that won’t turn them against your overlords. Be careful with GWOT though. Too many key trade and finance partners are Muslim. Calls from your members in Congress to “ban” them indicate things may already have gone too far.
So it’s gonna be tough to develop a new fright mask.

Riiiight. So Marco needs to up his cred with the baby parts lobby. That might help him whittle away at Cruz’s lead. But I really doubt it’s going to frighten Cruz away from going after him on his immigration sell out. Cruz has inherited almost all of Carson’s Fear-of-Uterus votes. They seem to be well satisfied that he’s one of them. And the values-voters-family-research-prayer-in-school lobby groups are on board with Ted now. Eddie Haskell is just weak sauce by comparison.
If he’s going to pull out of this poll dive, he’s gotta come up with something better than this.

If Rubio were so toxic due to his immigration stance and Senate history, why would Gowdy be saying this?

Moreover, if Rubio were so toxic to the values voters, why would conservative Senator Tim Scott be saying this?

Probably should tell you something, too. Rubio doesn’t need a majority of Latinos to win the general. He needs substantially more than Romney received and he needs substantially less overall enthusiasm for Hillary than there was for Obama. The latter he’s already got.
Finally, given Florida’s importance to the general election, and Jeb!’s anemic support right now, Rubio is fairly well positioned.
