Look, I know Israel hasn’t been exactly blameless in the way it’s handled the Palestinian issue over the years. But in all fairness, you’ve got to consider everything Israel has suffered all these years.

But what this really leads to is old people being shot dead by cops in their own rocking chairs in their own living rooms because a nervous cop on a drug squad thought the old geezer’s TV remote control might be a gun and made a split-second life-or-death decision.
When I was in law school we were taught a passage from English law that went something like this: “A man’s home, however humble, is his castle; and the wind may enter, the rain may enter, the cold may enter, but the King of England may not enter.”
That doesn’t apply here in America. It just got repealed thanks to the conservative political philosophy and its contempt for personal rights that for some inexplicable reason swept our nation for the last 30 years.
