Let’s just be clear: if Christine Gregoire had run ads like this back in 2004, everybody would have talked about how incredibly close that election was — 30,000 votes out of 3 million cast… who’d a thunk? — but she would’ve won on the first the count.

Suck on it Rossi.

Helmet-Hair-Hamlet told me with one of his ads that the person we elected to represent us in Washington, DC has actually been there doing what we elected her to do. Somehow this being in the other Washington is bad and Helmet-Hair-Hamlet is going to be different.
I guess that means he’ll spend more of his time on Wall Street looking out after his own interests and those of his banker colleagues instead of the interests of the residents of Washington state, right?

Kick his ass, Patty. The empty suit, Dino the Dim, has as much business in the Senate as I have playing centerfield for the M’s.
BTW, lost, you keep saying Obama never has had a real job. And, just exactly, what would Dino the Dim’s have been? He’s like Christine O’Donnell, he just keeps running for office and lives off the campaign donations and GOP patrons . . . Suck away, Dino, suck away!

I like it. Still love the Boeing ad.
The more I look at it, the more I’m pissed about the Time’s free front page false attack ad on the Murray campaign.
Both the question, and the answer were accurately depicted. There was no foul. There was nothing false or misleading about the ad.
In the original question, the interview asked Rossi to assume that the WTO finds, as expected, an uneven playing field that gives Airbus a cost advantage. Then asks him if that fact should be considered in determining who wins the tanker bid. Rossi gave a long response which didn’t answer the question. In follow-up, the interviewer asked him “when you say level playing field”… should the ruling (against Airbus for illegal subsidies) be a factor in the decision. Rossi answered “no, not as far as I’m concerned”.
The restating of the question in the murray ad did not change the plain meaning of the question one iota. It was precisely what the interviewer was asking. Murray changed neither the meaning nor context of either the question or the answer. It was totally legit. It’s the Times that lied, not the Murray campaign.

Somehow the Times thinks that Rossi should be entitled to multiple do-overs, over a two-day period, and Murray should emphasize his THIRD answer over his first (thereby paying for a Rossi commercial with her own campaign money). Idiots.
If Rossi wants to pay money to place an add which says “What I really should have said was…”, then he’s certainly free to do so. Murray’s under no obligation to do that for him.
