Translation: sharing the same misery as the victims of private/vulture capital.
Bob spews:
@ 4
Said misery would include, er, full or nearly full employment of those union members, rather than the layoffs that were otherwise set to occur in the hardest-hit school districts. 12% or so contribution to their own health care premiums.
Oh, the misery! We all should be so fucking lucky.
22.8 million unemployed, underemployed, or too discouraged to look for work so not counted in the unemployment figures. But virtually none of them are Wisconsin public union employees. Virtually none.
And YLB’s boilerplate response? In a nation of 22.8 un- or under-employed, Walker hasn’t created his promised 250,000 jobs in the first 14 months he’s been in office.
Keep running with that, YLB.
Bob spews:
YLB, next time you bring up that Walker hasn’t kept his promises, think back to what Biden said in April, 2010 (WaPo):
Biden predicts economy will create up to 500,000 jobs a month soon
By Garance Franke-Ruta and Frank Ahrens
Vice President Biden predicted Friday at a Pennsylvania fundraiser that the U.S. economy would be adding up to 500,000 jobs each month “some time in the next couple of months.”
http://voices.washingtonpost.c.....ll-cr.html
Time’s up, Joe.
YLB spews:
That’s a lie Bob. I said 77 or 78 thousand jobs which is about right for 14/15 months.
It’s not even close.
YLB spews:
Yeah I guess Mitt’s “ventures” promised “nearly” full employment to boot!
YLB spews:
And nothing makes a Fox News viewers day more than their politicians taking bread out of state employees kid’s mouths..
Shit the Bain Capital’s of the world have been doing that to them as long as anyone can remember.
Bob spews:

Planned layoffs of teachers and other school employees did not occur due to the moves Walker made. So cake may have been taken out of the mouths of some kids, but bread was put into the mouths of others.
Virtually full employment of Wisconsin public union members, YLB. Spin that any way you want. Doesn’t change the fact that in a very challenging economy, no real cuts to the number employed occurred.
Not bad for a first year in office.

Those victims of private/vulture capital you referred to:

YLB spews:
Well Obama hasn’t “raised” taxes on the “job creators” or rather let the Bush tax cuts expire.
Those tax cuts worked miracles. Right on through job losses of what 750k a month at the peak??
I guess Mitt wants to double down on that. Follow the Ryan plan maybe??? Who knows we might hit 1.5 million job loss a month at the next recessionary trough.
We’ll see how the UK does.. For sure we can beat them.

What about the victims of all of those auto dealership closures forced by the government, YLB?
Tens of thousands of jobs lost.
All so GM and Chrysler could be profitable.

It’s a really strange election year.
Ron Paul is continuing his campaign for the GOP nomination, but isn’t campaigning.
The GOP in New York as selected a new candidate to unseat the sitting Domocratic assemblywoman. It’s the assemblywoman’s husband (they’ve been seperated). The GOP candidate’s mother said that there’s “no way” he can win, “they (the voters) love her there”, and promised that she’s “going to have a long talk” with her son.
Michele Bachman claims in a new fundraising lettter that she’s “just” been gerrymandered out of her district by “liberal judges” who can’t stand that she’s been “standing up against Obama”. But nothing like that has happened. Her state was re-districted, and a five-judge panel (two were appointed by Democrats, the other three Republcians) drew the lines – back last February. The line DID move her home out of her district, but that doesn’t stop her from running for re-election in the district – which was the whole point of the fundraising appeal.
A N. Carolina representative last week insisted that he had “grave concerns” about Obama’s birth certificate, and if elected would pursue an ongoing investigation over whether Obama is qualified to be President. But this week he denied ever making any such comment.
Mitt Romney (remember him?) is trying to back-peddle on his claims made throughout the primary that his work at Bain Capital created 100,000 new jobs. Now he’s merely saying that it created “thousands” of jobs. Within a few weeks he will admit that with the profits, he created just two jobs – he hired a new gardner and maid for one of his houses. He will continue to have no comment on the thousands of long-term jobs lost in the companies Bain Capital purchased.
rhp6033 spews:
If Mitt Romney’s campaign ever needs to cut back on funds, it can just start re-showing Gordon Geko’s speech to shareholders when he was trying to buy their company – “Greed is good”.

Just yesterday his spokesperson sent an email mentioning 120,000 jobs.

Romney has managed to secure the one endorsement he really, really, didn’t want – from George W. Bush.
Republicans like to pretend that time stopped in Nov. 2000 and renewed in Nov. 2008, so that all problems were caused by Democrats. You will hardly hear a peep from them about the Bush presidency. But far be it from us to let them get away with that one….
YLB spews:

Bob spews:
@ 18
You misperceive the reason for that endorsement. It’s consolidation of the GOP base, closing circles around the nominee.
It’s not like there are lots of Democrats who would vote for Romney if it were not for George W. Bush.
Obama doesn’t want Carter’s endorsement, either. But he’s got it:

Bob spews:
@ 22
Still doesn’t make me a liar, does it? I don’t recall reading what you wrote.
WI jobs revised numbers coming up end-of-week. Won’t be 70+K growth, but it will be higher than previously calculated, probably substantially so, which is why Barrett’s already claiming it is dishonest.
He’s promised up to 250,000 jobs in his first four years. He’s got 2 1/2 years left.
And in three weeks, he’ll have won his second state-wide gubernatorial election in just over 18 months.
And Dems spent how much to try to prevent that?
YLB spews:
Oh certainly but I bought my house WAY before the big run-up in prices that started around the time Greenspan decided to keep interest rates low to inflate real estate like a balloon.
Look at trend of houses prices before that and then after..
If I had bought after that then I think a mortgage principal cramdown to bring principal in line with trend would have been more than justified.
Greenspan’s decision amounted to a gross distortion of the economy. It needed to be corrected.

In fact, the link between Fox News, the Murdoch papers, A.M. Talk Radio, and the bloggers and trolls is pretty consistent, as each parots the “talking point of the day”. Here’s just a big more confirmation.

Recalling or impeaching a ‘duly elected’ public official based upon the fact that said official is in the pockets of out of state monied interests, lied about their policy intentions while running for public office, and has a demonstrably corrupt administration that needs an out of state funded legal defense fund is well within the rights of the citizens of Wisconsin.
In fact, the Wisconsin Democrats have asked the DNC for 500,000 free speech units to put the knife in Walker’s governorship.
Then it’s on to Romney. I thought only North African dictators needed secret Swiss bank accounts?
But, you know, the real reason for the secrecy is not taxes, but the fact that the Mormon’s require that churchmembers tithe 10% of their gross income to the church, and some say Romney is lying to his own church about his gross income.
Would you vote for a man who lies to his own church to save a few bucks?

So whatever happened to the two Milwaukee County officials appointed by Scott Walker when he was county executive? As I recall, they were charged with embezzling money intended for wounded veterans and their families. An expression of wingnut love for our troops, no doubt. So what’d they do with that money intended for our troops? Wasn’t it spent on lavish Caribbean cruises, wedding expenses and renewing Walker-for-governor websites?
Then there was that other Scott Walker guy, Brian Pierick, charged with two felonies for child enticement. Whatever happened to him, besides making a very, very long list of wingnut pedophiles who’ve been busted in recent years?
