Allow me to introduce you to Captain Obvious.
We can probably assume that the report’s authors are motivated to provide the City with plenty of good data, while as much as possible, simultaneously providing data points that make the city look good. That’s enlightened self interest for any firm doing this kind of work. But some credit is due to any journalist who, recognizing this interest, takes the trouble to look for deeper inferences and ask the questions that don’t necessarily make the city look good.
Given the legal framework within which the city operates, it probably is not noteworthy that “every Strategic Advisor II” is paid about the same regardless of race or gender. The study’s authors might be doing better work if instead they focused on why there are lower percentages of women or minorities among the ranks of Strategic Advisor II, when compared to Strategic Advisor I (if in fact that is true, which it may not be).
Now this is the type of wasteful taxpayers money that Boob likes to support and can defend. You know a guy gets hungry once in a while, has to put on his feed bag.
