    There are a lot of lawyers out there that do good. For example, the lawyers that create wealth-preserving mechanisms like wills and trusts to insure a person’s wealth gets transferred to his or her heirs with minimum taxation. Also, tax lawyers who find ways to save their clients from the ridiculously complicated tax code.

    But the best lawyers are the ones that fight for the rights of individuals, especially when it comes to private property protection. Take the case of the motel owners in a small Massachusetts town. It seems that, over several decades,, some drug crimes were committed at the motel. The owners had no knowledge of their guests’ illegal activities, but the town attempted to seize the family business. After a long and tedious process, the owners finally won in court and defeated the treacherous and greedy local government. Had it not been for the efforts of lawyers from the Institute for Justice, the outcome might have been another example of government overstepping its boundaries. I urge you to support the Institue for Justice in its battle to keep government from crushing liberty.

    Spare me the anti-government babblings – it’s one of the most destructive things you conservatives have wrought – the unrelenting attack on the good things we all own together, and control together, and have a right to simply because we are citizens.     In Salt Lake City, the UTA has announced that they are essentially done with delivery of the FrontLines 2015 plan, which expanded its TRAX Light Rail and built FrontRunner commuter rail.

    The Utah Transit Authority is already working on its next plan, which would focus on less-capital intensive projects like streetcars, enhanced bus, and Bus Rapid Transit, plus a few extensions to the existing TRAX lines. I am not sure if, for the Sugar House streetcar if they chose a vehicle yet, I mean if it will be a vehicle like Portland, or the Siemens S70Ultra Short model, which was originally developed for the UTA.The reason Siemens developed it was to accommodate the UTA wanting longer trains without longer platforms.

    Johnson & Johnson raised their dividend 8.5% today. Roger Rabbit owns JNJ shares. When was the last time your boss gave you an 8.5% raise? And I didn’t even do any work!
