Hey Goldy, when are you gonna clean out your filter box? I’ve got a big important post hung up there.

Let’s put this bible-thumpin, right wing asshole in prison where he belongs. Then the anti-gay pastor can suck dick all night.

So since Rev. Ken is involved with the white house, does this mean we get to revolk his tax exempt status?

I s’ppose the first step is to see if Antioch Bible Church is licensed as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit by the IRS.
According to this site:
http://apps.irs.gov/app/pub78
The answer is yes, but information is rather lacking.
John Barelli spews:
While I’m sure Mr. Sanders believes his sources, I cannot find any other source mentioning the title “Special Envoy for Adoptions, Family Values, Religious Freedom, and Medical Relief“. (Anyone knowing of an independent source, please post it.)
While this really does sound like something that Rev. Hutcherson would say, I can’t find any confirmation of it except in the Stranger (and sources quoting from the Stranger). His website says nothing about it (and given his propensity for self-promotion, that seems odd) and none of the stories I’ve found, including some from Latvia, mention the title.
He did apparently make the claim “I came to you representing the White House“, and unfortunately, I believe him.
Somehow, I just cannot see the Stranger getting an exclusive interview with Rev. Hutcherson, and, not to put too fine a point on it, the Stranger makes NPR look like a bunch of right wingers. Rev. Hutcherson giving them an exclusive would be like Goldy filling in for Rush Limbaugh. (Wouldn’t that be an interesting program?)
Rev. Hutcherson is certainly quite full of himself, and is as far-right as you can get without falling over, but I’d still like to see some independent verification before calling for his arrest on charges of falsely representing himself as an envoy of the US Government.
Of course, if he did make that claim, then he may well have violated federal law. Not that the Bush administration would be likely to follow up on that.
Liberal Dragon spews:
No, Gonzo would probably try and let that one slide…. But then again, he’s not really in the position to do that given that he has dogshit all over his shoe. There seems to be more and more information coming in on this from Americablog. Let’s see what the week brings… he, he, he, he….
Roger Rabbit spews:
@7 Where have you been, John? NPR now IS a bunch of rightwingers.
Roger Rabbit spews:
The really delicious thing is that ALL the thousands of young GOP activists who have been deployed into federal jobs to act as propagandists will be out of work in Jan. 2009! That is going to be one incredible purge!!! For starters, there’ll be a sign on NPR’s door reading:
UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT

Rog@ 10:
NPR has taken two hits, only one of which can be blamed on the GOP.
The first we all know. Newt trying to scrub their budget, etc. etc.
The second is more subtle, and probably ultimately more corrupting to their editorial/journalistic credibility. NPR is no longer this shoestring organization with a few reporters in Washington and a few more in NYC. They are a big, globe-spanning organization with a hundred million dollar a year budget.
(source NPR audited financial reports: http://www.npr.org/about/state.....report.pdf)
An unfortunate thing happened from here to there. First, when you take money from large corporations, you can’t bite them in the ass too hard, no matter how much NPR’s ombudsman denies that sponsorship has any effect on editorial content.
Second, when you’re dependent on more and more hands for donations every year, you can’t get your listening audience by appealing to listeners on Capitol Hill, Fremont, and Wallingford any more.
Newt is gone, the GOP is out, and the Bushies will be kicked out of the White House soon enough. The problems of going from a shop of 30 employees to a multimillion dollar corporation will not change on Jan 20, 2009.

Those ads pay for the paper. Did you have a point you wanted to share, or are you trying to be snarky?
If it’s the former, say something. If it’s the latter, leave snark to professionals.

Up until 1 A.D., the only sexual connotation in this story was Lot offering his daughters to be gang-raped. The word that was translated in the Bible to “to know” was used far more often to mean lying (falsehood, scamming) than sex.

Bush will throw anyone under the bus, except for Karl. So until Hutcherson recants on the video evidence, I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Really, the Bushies lie about everything. I see no reason why Hutcherson would feel compelled to make this stuff up.
Just to be clear, I’m not a defender of Hutcherson’s mission or motives, but I think this could be one more Bush lie. Jesus Christ, there are so many of them.
