How Much Is $15 An Hour?
A full-time job at $15/hr. pays about $31,200 a year. The 10-year Treasury rate is 2.69%. To earn $31,200 from safe bonds, you need about $1,160,000 of capital. Therefore, a $15/hr. job can substitute for $1.16 million of savings. If you can’t save that much, you can get the same income by working for $15/hr. Doesn’t that make you feel rich?

Any of those yahoos who goes into town for a resupply of beer may find himself being followed by a bunch of black SUVs with tinted windows. He may notice a couple of armored personnel carriers, of the type used by SWAT teams, parked around the corner. He won’t make it back to the Bundy Ranch. The FBI boys will prefer to pick these guys off one by one, like a Marine sniper taking down a Taliban column in the ‘Ghan. The rest they’ll round up like cattle with Airborne Rangers. There may be some shooting. If so, it won’t end well for the secessionists, because you can bet the government men will have backup on standby, including a couple of F-16s armed with cluster bombs.

There’d be no airstrikes. It’d just be a bunch of U.S. Marshals going in with everything they have. Say the KKK Freakos here have around 500 or so individuals. They’d be mopped up in about 3 hours. Theres another case much like that, a couple left their garage door open with the woman’s purse on the floor, and the homeowner shot at random into the dark when they heard someone in the driveway. Apparently, they shot some kid, an exchange student from Germany, as he entered the garage. They claim full Castle Doctrine immunity, but now it is being said that they may have called him into the garage. Both the man and woman have been arrested.
Murder isn’t a crime for Christians anymore. They don’t answer to secular law.

I recently read a book by Stephen Emmott, who manages a research lab for Microsoft, about the impact a human population of 10 billion will have on our planet. He concludes by saying,

Once again, we are reminded of why our society gives billionaires disproportionate influence over the economy, politics, and social mores. It’s because of their superior intelligence, judgment, wisdom, ethics, and morals! It’s those traits that qualify them to run society for the rest of us. No, wait, that can’t be it; as Sterling reminded us, some billionaires are venal, petty, grasping, mean, and vulgar jerks. So it must be something else. It must be because they have shitloads of money and like to throw their weight around, and can get away with a lot simply because they have a lot of money and weight to throw around. Yeah, that’s gotta be it. If you take away their money and influence, they’re exactly like the neighborhood bullies down the block.

We’re being told now that Mr. Sterling has been like this for a long time. Essentially all his life. So why didn’t the NBA know of his problem attitudes and problem mouth? Well, they did know, and they swept it under the rug for years and years, until it went viral and they couldn’t ignore it anymore. Which makes all of those NBA owners and their hired quislings a bunch of hypocrites and look-the-other-way weaklings who lacked the balls to kick an obnoxious racist out of their private club. Not exactly an impressive performance. But then, we always knew rich people — the kind of people who own pro sports teams — are morally inferior to us ordinary folk, didn’t we? And sometimes their IQs, judgment, business acumen, and personal behavior aren’t so hot, either. So why do we, as a society, let them hog all the money and power? Since power tends to be an outgrowth of money, you have to target the money, so shouldn’t we be taxing these people more?
We’ve also recently seen that children of rich people who drive drunk and kill people don’t go to prison like the rest of us, they get probation. I don’t know about you, but I’m sick of this system of special treatment for the rich merely because they’re rich.
Don’t misunderstand me. I’m not asking for special treatment for myself. If you behave, you don’t need special treatment.
