    The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows that 29% of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty-seven percent (37%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -8. Thirty-three percent (33%) say the nation is generally heading in the right direction.

    Eighty-three percent (83%) say that all legislation should be posted online and available for everyone to read before Congress votes on it. Of those who want the information available, 64% say legislation should be posted in final form at least two weeks before a vote.

    Actually, in real polls Obama’s numbers are up:

    A CBS/New York Times poll put him at 56%-33%, compared to 56%-35% in August. An NBC/Wall Street Journal poll has him at 51%-41%, compared to 51%-40% in August. A Fox News poll has him at 54%-39%, compared to 53%-40% in August.

    And Klynical fails to give the real breakdown on Obamas overall favorable vs unfavorable – preferring instead to use the stiilted “index” that was never used for any other President before.

    According to this false “index” Bush was at negative 38, at one point. So much for objectivity and ability to undertand data from Klynical – your neighborhood third-grade level troll. Pluus, I have already shown numerous times that Rasmussen is a biased republican pollster that is unreliable and out of the mainstream (an outlier) based on their inferior methodology and biased questions.

    Oh yeah, the republican health care plan….first they trotted out a plan that cost 1.8 trillion, gave away the farm to the insurance industry, did not control costs, did not cover everyone and did not reduce premiums or the costs of health care…..it was so incomplete they took it back…now they are voting on “amendmends”.

    What do the republicans want to do to the health care plan? They want to make poor people pay more and give more money to the insurance industry…that is their idea of reform.

    Why?

    Because they get lots of money from the insurance industry and they don’t care aobut poor people dying from lack of insurance.

    It’s getting late in the Senate Finance Committee’s writing of a health-care bill, but not too late for Republicans on Wednesday to make one more valiant stand for the health insurance industry.

    Late in the afternoon, Sen. Chuck Grassley (Iowa), the top Republican on the committee, requested consideration of the “Grassley F-1 Modified Amendment.” Its goal: eliminate $7 billion a year in fees that the government would charge private health insurance companies, and make up the shortfall by reducing benefits to poor people and legal immigrants.

    It was dangerously close to a parody: Republicans demanding that fees be reduced on a profitable industry and shifted to low-income Americans.

    Back a few years ago when I was doing a lot of reporting on security companies working in Iraq, I was always amused, surprised, sometimes forced to laugh out loud at how often it seemed that the security company was just a shell offering to do any number of things they’d never done before but would be happy to figure out how to do if you gave them a contract. And when we were poking around in the background of American Police Force, the gonzo security outfit which took over that prison up in Montana, it seemed like pretty much the same story. Only to an almost infinitely more comical degree.

    Among the services? Surveilling your cheating spouse, security for convoys in Iraq, rescuing kidnapping victims. And if rescuing kidnapping victims ain’t your bag, APF will also kidnap people and hold them for ransom for you. (This latter part may actually just be a matter of sloppy writing. But with APF, who knows. They want to serve your needs; whatever they might be.) Sort of like working either the management or labor side of Labor Law. Similarly, they’ll either provide protection from WMDs or provide you with WMDs. Whichever side you want to play. Also, “covert pregnancy testing.”

    All Mark Foley did was talk to people who were OF AGE per the FBI!
    You do not remember the facts.

    After the initial story on the e-mails, other pages contacted ABC and the Washington Post, providing transcripts of sexually explicit instant messaging (IM) conversations from 2003 that Foley had with two pages under the age of 18 at the time. The Washington Post reported that it had received its copies of these same IMs from a page who had served on Capitol Hill with the two pages who received them.

    The irony was Foley was chairman of the House Caucus on Missing and Exploited Children, which introduced legislation targeting sexual predators and created stricter guidelines for tracking them.
    He was engaging in the behavior that he was trying to stop.

    Now if we applied the story that Foley did this 21 years ago and not since, personally, I would have considered it creepy, but if he had not engaged in the behavior for decades, then I’m going to give him the benefit of the doubt that he has learned to make better choices.

    Most Americans say they are worried about Iran developing a nuclear weapons program, and think President Obama should be tougher on the rogue nation. In addition, a clear majority supports the use of force to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. According to a new FOX News poll released Thursday, a sizable 69 percent majority of Americans thinks President Obama has not been tough enough on Iran.     In 2004, Humana’s chairman and former CEO David Jones donated a million dollars to the McConnell Center for Political Leadership, a University of Louisville academic center.

    Medicare Advantage is a GOP-created program that gives private plans an average of 14 percent more tax dollars than the government pays for coverage of patients under traditional Medicare.

    Democratic health-care proposals would cut payments to those plans by about $123 billion over 10 years.

    That would cut deeply into insurance company profits.

    So who is voting to support obscene insurance company profits….do I have to spell it out for you Puddy – or are you bright enough to figure it out on your own? Insurance companies are ripping off our taxes….and republicans want to enable them.

    Next time you complain about taxes – remember that! Hypocrite.
