    Y’know, an awful lot of people in the TeaBag movement are supporting the most pragmatic and effective solution to this problem. After all, the Negro race just isn’t capable of being civilized, right? They aren’t Human, they’re just animals who need to be put down. The simplest method to prevent crimes like this is just to eliminate the whole race off of the face of the Earth.

    I’ve never once met a Liberal who says this, but y’know, I’ve worked my whole life with people who do. There are several reasons why one doesn’t see black folks in machine shops except when they’re sweeping the floor or scrubbing the toilet.

    Meanwhile, in Missouri, a GOP legislator has introduced a bill that would prohibit use of food stamps to purchase fish or steak. Apparently if you’re poor you don’t deserve to eat those items. Actually, the bill is worded “seafood,” so apparently this will mean no more tuna-and-mayo sandwiches for Missouri’s working poor, it’s back to PBJ for them, if it’s enacted into law (and survives legal challenges).

    Roger Rabbit Commentary: This Republican, in typical schizophrenic GOP fashion, is promoting healthy eating on one hand and discouraging healthy eating on the other hand. Years ago, my doctor told me that eating beef kills people, and told me to eat fish instead (although that raises a mercury issue). I’ve generally followed his advice, and as you can see, I’m still here.

    Like other capitalists who play the stock market, I’m not on food stamps (capitalists don’t need food stamps; they have their own specialized welfare programs), nor do I live in Missouri, so this legislation won’t directly affect me; but I don’t buy steak anyway because, as noted above, it’s every bit as bad for you (and addicting) as cigarettes. Also, how could any civilized rabbit eat a cow after gazing into those big brown eyes? (This isn’t a problem for Republicans, which should require no explanation.)

    On the other hand, we should encourage our Republican friends to enjoy all the sizzling steaks and juicy burgers they like! And even hand them the ketchup bottles! For reasons that also should require no explanation. (This is how we liberals practice terrorism against our political enemies.)

    I can’t help but suspect part of the Republican motivation for this bill, besides the obvious one of harassing poor people for sport, is they want to reduce aggregate demand for steak so steak prices will fall, so they can gorge on less expensive steak. (Republicans generally don’t like paying for things, especially other people’s labor, but this mentality also applies to food, cigars, and sex.)

    For the above reasons, I’m not opposed to lower steak prices in principle, but I think cows deserve a break. I’d much rather see Republicans eat each other instead of poor, inoffensive, innocent cows whose only crime is being born a cow. (Similar to being born poor, black, or Muslim.) With the GOP nomination race about to begin, I’ll soon get my wish. Pass the popcorn, please.
