I agree it’s silly. All we need to do to shitcan this forever is to have an Independent Commission, with an Independent Council to review all the evidence…then hold hearings in the House & Senate, of course. Finally, let the Supreme Court review all the actual evidence and then make a decision.
Simple process…should only take a couple of years….then Obama can legitimately, with no cloud over his head, begin serving his term.

This notion of Obama as the ultimate Manchurian Candidate is fascinating. Just think about it for a minute…in 1960, the Trilateral Commission, or maybe a UN Black Helicopter Squad working secretly with Black Muslims identifies a young middle class white woman from Hawaii and whisks her off to Africa to be impregnated by a black man in Kenya. They have a mixed race baby and, with the support of these UN/Communist/Islamist conspiracists, manage to plant a back story to and has a mixed race baby boy in Africa.
This secret cabal manages to plant documentation to verify a birth on American soil so that, 47 years later this mixed race baby, born three years before the Civil Rights Act and 13 years before the Supreme Court overturned miscegnation laws in Loving vs Virginia, can one day become President of the United States to implement socialist rule and destroy Christianity?

So, Cynical thinks we should open the door for some special commission to investigate Obama’s qualifications to be President, with the Supreme Court (seven out of nine appointed by Republican presidents) being the ultimate decision-maker – just as they were in 2000. All to satisfy some right-wing lunatic fantasy theory with no foundation in facts. Then while he tries to run for two years with this “investigation” looming over his head, ultimately he will emerge stronger once his “legitimacy” is affirmed?
Yea. Sure. The Republicans would love that scenario. They suckered Clinton in with a special prosecutor to investigate Whitewater, which ultimately found no wrongdoing by either Clinton for those charges. But they spent the next five years expanding the investigation to cover every Republican allegation they hoped they could turn into a scandal, and ultimately had to settle with finding out that he lied about a one-time dalliance with an intern.
That’s the Republican plan for Obama, too. He’d be a fool to buy into it.
Of course, you’d never see McCain submitting to such an investigation over whether a son of a serviceman born in an occupied territory of a foreign country is a “natural-born citizen” as defined by the Constitution (as Amended).
And you sure didn’t see Bush, Cheney, Rove, et al submitting to any questioning under oath, even if it constituted Contempt of Congress to ignore the subpoenas.
I’m tired of Republicans insisting that the Democrats have to play by a set of rules which the Republicans have run roughshod over.

What he said was, “fifty … [pause] … seven states.” Meaning, he started to say he had visited 50 states, but then corrected himself to say 47 of the lower 48 states. When he made this remark, he had visited all but 1 of the Lower 48. You wingnuts can’t even keep your own fucking rumors straight!
