I think Netflix and Amazon (and similar subscription based companies) should start giving spots in corporate governance to members. I think there are many Prime members who would like some representation in corporate HQ. I know, they don’t need some asshole blogger telling them how to run their bidness, but I do think companies in the US ought to become more democratic.

    @2 Carl is suggesting corporate boards include a director who represents the customers. That sounds like a good idea to me. Without customers, you don’t have a business. With a customer-oriented board, you’re less likely to get fiascos like Wells Fargo’s fake accounts scandals. Some companies have bad boards now, so how much worse could those boards get? How many CEOs have captive boards (not mentioning examples starting with “I”), and how many shareholders of such companies are well served? Clearly, there’s room to improve some boards, so why are you against improving them?

    Perhaps the one good thing that might come out of this is it would reduce some of the prior hesitation from every administration going all the way back to Eisenhower to directly engage and negotiate.

    The Error in Chief will briefly hold Lady Liberty down while Kim dry humps the flag for a ten count and then it will all be over with. Future administrations not built around wife beaters, child molesters, and pornographic film stars may find it a bit easier and less politically charged to settle disputes in the region.
