Opps, looks like my previous Stevens article posted already, must have hit some button.
I’m not clear here about this. By moving his trial up sooner, if he gets convicted, that might leave time for Bush to dole out the inevitable Pardon.
However, now that things aren’t going Steven’s way, he might choose to delay and doing the lawyering delays (in order to help him make it through the election). At which point in time it might date the trial & sentencing for AFTER Bush is Gone Gone Gonged. Not sure how this will play out.
I’ve often wondered about this tactic/justification when it comes to politics. If A acts like B, then is A really any different than B? If we Democrats behave like Republicans in every way, what then differentiates us? How can we say we’re better?
You kids are already Guy #2. What do you think MoveOn.org, Kos, HuffPo & HA (on a small-time level) are?
Pretending that you’re taking some high road is laughable. The only difference between the Swift Boaters and your spittle-flecked rants is the medium. And the fact that YOU’RE making crap up.

John McCain’s just a regular guy, and just exactly like most Americans. After all, I don’t know how many homes I own. Do you?

I’m not questioning your patriotism, but I am questioning your judgment.
– Inflation is rising. The U.S. economy is currently experiencing “the worst 12 months of inflation in almost three decades.”
– Real wages are declining. Americans are experiencing a “de facto pay cut.” “Almost everything costs more, even as [Americans] have less money to pay for it.”
– Unemployment is increasing. Americans have experienced “seven consecutive monthly declines in employment.”
– Cost of food is rising. Food prices are quickly increasing and even school lunches across the country will be more expensive in the coming year.
– Optimism about economy is declining. “Optimism in the U.S. economy among CEOs of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies” is at a 16-year low. Americans are similarly pessimistic.
– Foreclosures are still increasing. Home foreclosures were up 55 percent over last year in July and “17 [percent] of all homes for sale in the U.S. are repossessed properties.”
But John McCain thinks the economy is just fine, and wants to continue the policies that got us where we are. I understand this. Of course the economy looks good from the window of your private jet, as you try and fail yet again to remember how many houses you own or which one you’re flying to.

A FUCKING MEN! I am so sick and fucking tired of the go along get along Democrats trying to “work with” the other side – or to be “bi-partisan” or to take the “high road.”
WAKE THE FUCK UP ASSHOLES! That all sounds good and might work if the other side was remotely interested in justice, playing fair and helping advance American ideals. THEY ARE NOT! They want to win. That’s it. That’s all. That’s what they care about.
How much more evidence do you need? They play politics with war, death, disease, human tragedy and whimpy asslicks on the Dem side say, “Oh we need to be civil.”
You be civil with these criminals and they’ll do it again. It’s time to start running ads about FlipFlop McSame’s DISMAL fucking war record. The real one. It’s time to start talking about HIS affairs and HIS scandals – like the Keating Five and his continued ties to lobbyists. It’s time to remind folks that the pussy isn’t running his own Presidential campaign – the RNC is. THEY will TELL him what to do and just like he did in Nam, he’ll roll over and do their bidding.
Toughen up or get the fuck out of the way so others can do what you do not have the stones to do. Fight – fight dirty. Fight often. WIN!

I’m not surprised. Stabbing (kicking) in the back instead of confronting the person and having an honest fight…seems to be the “progressive” method.
Goldy, true we have to fight tough as nails to win the political end game. And that is why I like the Clintons. But I also, think that it is wise to live by the words Nietzsche gave us:
Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you.
