Looks like one of the recent signs of “progress” in Iraq, like so many before them, turns out to be “not so much.” It seeems like just the other day that the boycotting Sunnis were going to rejoin the government of Iraq, and there was to be a new era of cooperation and “unity” (if you don’t count the Sadrist 30% of the government–and why would you want to? It just messes up the meme).
Only, as anyone who watches the Sunnis getting stiffed by the Shiites again and again might easily predict:

As to Pelosi, I’m in absolute agreement that the blood of everyone who’s died in Iraq since she became speaker is on her hands. About the only possible thing that would convince me otherwise would be if we find out later that she knows something we don’t (and as high in the “line of succession” as she is, she’s no doubt party to information she can’t share with anyone) which would make it certain that had the Dems started early on with impeachment, something was likely to “happen” which would prevent them winning the White House this year. What exactly that might be, I’d have trouble imagining, but I have no doubt that Bush/Cheney/Rove et al are capable of trying some pretty bizarre stuff. Past experience surely bears that out.

1. Yet another tainted lobbyists in deep with McCain:
Phil Gramm (THE economic advisor to McCain) was a lobbyist for a foreign bank (UBS) while advising McCain on the “free market” solution to the housing crisis. Additionally, UBS is advising some of it’s employees to leave the US to avoid prosecution.
How many of these before McCain just declares he is the lobbyist representative candidate for president?

2. Former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan writes a tell-all book and basically says that Bush lied and the Iraq war was unnecessary. He also says the press gave the war a pass and did not do their job.
How many ex-Bush officials have to say the same thing before it is just a fact?
And what is the Bush response? Throw him under the bus along with anyone else who disagrees with them.
McClellan says that, as a Christian, his conscience could not live with the lies – well – he has a lot to ask forgiveness for….considering he was the chief lie-maker to the press.
Where were all these people who were concerned about the truth when it counted? Better late than never – but they were cowards – all of them including the sycophantic press!

You’re right, cooler heads prevail, but honestly, I cannot contain my anger any more.
I was out at Tahoma National cemetery on Monday morning before the gov showed, pay my respects and memorializing the men I personally knew who perished doing their duty to country.
I cannot fathom how any American president can hastily go to war, without serious reflection, debate, and to purposefully select a policy that would lead to an armed conflict. No wonder he made sure his kids and his new son-in-law didn’t serve in the war.
He owes each and every American who lost a loved one a face-to-face apology.
I’ll I can say is Cindy Sheehan was right, and every cock sucking mother fucker who trashed her is a fucking unpatriotic pig. Without exception.
McClellan may be looking at the Republicans losing control, and…well, he’s still a fairly young man. He may think that by publicly washing the Rovian slime off his hands he’ll improve his prospects for gainful employment.
