I think Goldy should run. He needs a second job. Journalism doesn’t pay well. Unless, of course, you’re a big-titted, pea-brained, know-nothing with a gig on Fascist TV Network.

And how about a weekly TROLL thread
where GOATBOY can post and be ignored.

Hey Border Patrol! I’m sure GOATBOY is an Illegal Alien.
Please detain him for a month or two until you can verify his status. I think he is a Kenyon because I saw his Kenyon birth certificate online.

Paying Off Mobsters
Detroit’s state-appointed (i.e., GOP-appointed) emergency manager admitted today banks will get 86 cents on the dollar while pensioners get only 16 cents because of derivative deals he called “illegal” and “fraudulent” and even asked the SEC to investigate. In other words, paying gangsters takes precedence because, well, they can mess you up if you don’t pay them. So far, the judge in the case isn’t buying this reasoning.

President Obama tightened federal gun possession rules today. By executive action, he barred people involuntarily committed to mental institutions and defendants acquitted by reason of insanity from having guns. Incredibly, some states allow such people to have guns.

Facebook Sued For Invasion Of Privacy
the Wall Street Journal reported in 2012 that Facebook admitted filtering private messages for spam and criminal activity, but denied reading users’ private messages.
A class action lawsuit was filed against Facebook today alleges the social media company does just that, and sells the information to advertisers.

Sen. Bernie Sanders today asked the NSA point-blank if it is spying on Congress, and the ACLU expressed concerns that if it is, which NSA has done in the past, the agency could use intercepted information to blackmail congressmen and senators. We already know some NSA staffers have used the government’s staggering monitoring resources to spy on their spouses and girlfriends, so why wouldn’t they go after elected officials, too?

While conservatives throw a fit over the California Supreme Court’s decision to issue a license to practice law to an illegal immigrant, an American-born attorney (i.e., citizen in good standing) got into a fatal shootout with cops in Dallas.

Roger Rabbit Quiz
Which of the following individuals is the lawbreaker less deserving of a license to practice law? Note, there is only ONE correct answer!
[ ] A. A Mexican kid who broke the law by allowing his parents to sneak him into the U.S. when he was 2 years old.
[ ] B. An American citizen who broke the law by shooting at cops.
I’ll bet every wingnut in the country would flunk this quiz.

‘Bertha’ Mystery Solved
The geniuses at WSDOT have figured out what’s blocking the tunnel boring machine: A steel pipe they put there in 2002, which is on their maps, and was listed in the bid specifications.
Ekim spews:
Gotta be B since the dumb shit was done kilt by the cops shooting back at him.
On the other hand I could see that wingnuts like GOATBOY would prefer a dead gun totin’ lawyer over a live Mexican lawyer.
don spews:
@12
WSDOT is not building the tunnel, it is the responsibility of the contractor to fulfill all specifications. The contractor was supposed to remove or avoid the pipe, which wasn’t put there by WSDOT, but by another contractor. Note that these contractors are in the private sector, which we keep hearing can do anything better than government.

So, the first of several racketeering lawsuits against Mittens and his little private bucket house operation has now been filed. He spent the better part of the last 20 years running a series of various scams, including this one, where he pretty much used a law firm in which he had a controlling interest to oversee the liquidation of a company under contract through a third party. What this did was enable him to manipulate the prices from both sides and hide the real costs from the company being liquidated, thus screwing over the stockholders.
This is how these crooks do business. They blame the law for the crime, but the law didn’t prevent them from committing that crime. This is a Felony, and should be a criminal investigation rather than a civil lawsuit.
Why is it again, that they want to get rid of all those pesky “government regulations”?
Oh yeah, they don’t think stock manipulation, price fixing, misprision of felony or insider trading to be real crimes at all. It’s just how they do business.
Roger Rabbit spews:
@13 Looks like we have a winner!

@15 I want to know what’s in Mittster’s 2009 tax return. I want to know if he got an IRS amnesty for hiding money in Swiss bank accounts. The public has a right to know whether the GOP nominated a tax dodger for president in 2012.

Probably one of the most important political/economical issues of the year is the Boeing negotiations regarding the 777x.
I am asking the front pagers here at HA to give it the attention the other bought & sold media won’t.
If you want my help, ask.
Whatever the outcome of today’s IAM vote, the issue is not near decided.

Union Accepts Boeing’s Revised Terms
By a 51%-49% vote, Boeing workers agreed to the company’s revised contract extension offer, ensuring the 777X will be built here.
The contract extension means the union will not strike for at least 10 years. It also means Boeing will phase out its defined-benefit pension in favor of a defined-contribution plan.
However, a company scheme to require 16 years to reach the top pay scale, instead of the current 6 years, that was in the first contract extension proposal that was voted down by union members was dropped from the revised proposal, and the 6-year pay scale will be retained in the new contract.

They were in a tough spot, but it was too much of a risk to vote no twice.
