I’m pleased to announce that Paul Andrews has joined our team of HA co-bloggers, and will post on whatever he wants, whenever he wants, and as often (or as rarely) as he wants.
You may remember Paul as the longtime technology columnist for the Seattle Times. He and Geov will be forming a support group for former professional journalists who have obviously hit rock bottom.
By, Geov! That sounds great!
Hey Paul, I just hope you post more than me.
Carl @2,
I just hope he posts more than Geov.
I thought Crosscut was serving that purpose…
“former professional journalists who have obviously hit rock bottom.”
Well I say life’s to short to work for a shitty employer. So good on ’em for leaving.
Now if you’ll excuse me I’ve got to get back to work on my letter of resignation.
Obviously hitting rock bottom would be blogging for “Sound Politics”.
Is there a 12 step program for ex-journalists?
Welcome!
I, for one, welcome our newest blog overlord.
Just another seattle media lefty…not much diff between his old paper and this new gig, save for the foul language
Is there any money in this?
Thanks everyone, for the dubious “welcome.” As for my precipitous professional decline, I should point out that my longtime print colleagues get paid a lot and write next to nothing. I write a lot and get paid next to nothing. Financial analysts say the plot lines will cross at some point in my lifetime, though, so keep readin’ !!
Pay no attention to the snipers above. The rest of us don’t.
Welcome.
Has anyone heard anything from friend Richard Pope lately?
Did he stumble into a black hole? Did Jane have him assassinated?
@13…CHURLISH/Chump/Chimp/Chadt…
Pope has been posting at Sound Politics the past couple days…And being as incomprehensible as always.
Seen his stupid ads in the paper? Page B2 of today’s Times where he lists his “government service” as “Assisted with the prosecution of drunk driving and other criminal cases.” Assisted? Like, he couldn’t even be lead counsel on one? Did he go for coffee and stuff?
His is the thinnest resume for public service imaginable.
And he’s got to get a different photographer! Every picture of him has that Mr. Bean look, which, when you come to think of it, comports nicely with his behavior and frenetic political life.
The perfect HA candidate!
The Piper
Ah, Piper. Since nobody here listens to you, I presume that you are posting for the satisfaction of seeing your ineffable
script appearing before your admiring I.
Hillary is tougher and smarter than any Republican candidate out there. Also, they’ve fired their worst at her for 16 years; what’s left? Any one of them has to not like his chances against her very much. They’ll to use her to TRY to fire up a base that thus far refuses to unite behind any of their maniflawed candidates, but they’ll lose the moderates who make small but crucial differences, and the Democratic voters are fired up about wanting to take back the White House. If she’s the candidate, the generic GOP guy has no chance.
If Barack Obama and/or John Edwards is the Democratic candidate, I am still optimistic, but not as sure, because neither of them have had to face the full-court press of lies, smears, and calumny that is the Republican political machine.
And I should add I say this as a primary supporter of John Edwards, in support of whom I will go to the Democratic caucuses.
