I know it has been successful in many localities, but I just do not like the soda tax Seattle is considering. It always feels very fat shaming whenever people trot it out. Here in Washington where we don’t have an income tax, it seems like a strange place to use your time and energy to push.

Meanwhile, Doctor Dumbfuck rails against paying $15/hr to people who toil in McDonalds kitchens as if it meant the end of the world.
Roger Rabbit spews:
A developer came into my neighborhood, bought a shabby teardown, knocked it down and cut down the trees, then subdivided the land into minimum-size lots and threw up several ugly, boxy-looking houses built from cheap materials (there’s no plywood in these structures, only imported chip board, and the siding is plastic). One sold for a million dollars before being completed, and he put another on the market this weekend and it sold for a million dollars in less than an hour. I’m trying to figure out whether Seattle’s housing market is this desperate, or a lousy million dollars is this worthless, or both. I’m also wondering where people who work at McDonalds for $15/hr. are going to live when even Medicare-teat-sucking dumbfuck doctors soon won’t be able to afford the housing and taxes in this city. Burrows in city parks are still free, though, if you know how to dig.
Roger Rabbit spews:
I was under the impression that after people die they’re no longer Republican or Democrat, white or black, straight or gay anymore — just dead. I mean, the bugs and worms don’t care, so why does this funeral home care?
“A south Mississippi funeral home went back on an agreement to cremate an 86-year-old man after he died and paperwork showed he was gay, according to a lawsuit in state court.
“Picayune Funeral Home had told a nephew in Colorado that Robert Huskey’s body would be picked up and cremated for $1,795, and paperwork would be handled after his death, according to the lawsuit.
“But, it said, when the faxed-in form identified John Zawadski as Huskey’s husband, the nursing home where Huskey died was told the company did not “deal with their kind.”

Seriously. You Dems in Washington may not see a better opportunity than this for years to come. Sorry as I am for the Kimmels, there is after all a point to all this and a point behind his tears. Do-nothing, go-along schleps like Reichert are a big part of the problem. If he takes a vote to please his hillbilly masters in DC instead of his intelligent, educated, healthy, affluent, progressive constituents who put him there (oh, and BTW, to do the right thing) he should pay with his job.

Three things:
We mostly restricted it to the Senate, where given the simple math (I know, one of your “challenge” areas) it meant buying one or two votes, not twenty or thirty;
We never fed and nurtured a death cult of 25 members in our midst devoted to either smashing the grinder, or failing at that, liberally (sorry, couldn’t help it) seasoning the sausage with ricin, anthrax, ground glass, and arsenic;
Your fucked up, beer drunk, treasonous hillbilly crisis born out of Fuckface Von Clownstick’s fragile ego is not America’s crisis – it’s our summer entertainment.

I found this interesting in light of the “ESPN is losing because of liberal values….” line of bull crap last week.
Netflix has four times as many streaming subscribers worldwide as Comcast has cable subscribers in any form (basic, and ESPN included packages).
I stand by my position that ESPN will be fine when they can stream their own content for a fee without a required cable subscription. they just need to ride it out. Right now they are just keeping the same percentage of an ever shrinking pie of people willing to pay for cable.
Elijah Dominic McDotcom spews:
28,
Are you sure? Still makes them a middleman.
Consider professional sports. What value do the “networks” deliver to the media content? A handful of retired ex-pros in their communion suits making chit chat between the whistles surrounded by ugly digital graphics? That’s not hard to pull off.
If ESPN can stream direct to the audience, so can MLB, NBA, NFL, PAC12, etc. etc. and cut out the grifters in the middle. For now the content creators still depend on the middlemen to reach the audience. But that won’t last forever. It’s already breaking down fast.

Mark Adams spews:
Following the logic of why they want to implement such a tax the Mayor and others should be pushing for higher food stamp benefits for poor families in the city. More money for better milk, orange juice would mean poor people could make better choices. They may end up making better choices if the soda becomes the more expensive choice, but in that case the tax is too high and the city will not end up collecting enough to pay for the proposed programs. Basic economics. Well the soda industry won’t take it quietly. The lawyers and advertisers will make out big time. Wonder if those folks support the mayor.

Peace with Israel even as one state might be preferable to the Turks dealing with the Arabs in their combination of knocking heads and bribes. The occupied territories aren’t the tough nut Jerusalem is. Which will mean at best it’s a two state in one is the only workable solution. The Israelis have sort of adopted the US Indian reservation system. Worked for us, just took 80-100 years and it worked out well for everyone but the Indians, but they are doing better.

Roger Rabbit Commentary: When government allows private businesses to do whatever they damn please, guess what they’ll do? As they damn please. If this guy was a Trump voter, I’d ask him, “How’s this free market working for ya?”
Roger Rabbit spews:
@80 Which is what newspapers and journalists have been doing in this country for 230 years, so what has changed to justify giving the president autocratic power over the press?
Roger Rabbit spews:
@77 When we were young our mothers were programmed to tell us liver and onions was good for us. Something to do with red blood cells, which ended up getting spilled into Vietnamese mud and dust anyway.
Roger Rabbit spews:
The Trumpcare 2.0 bill passed by the House today with 1 vote to spare is so bad even Dave Reichert couldn’t vote for it.

Paraphrasing Ted Yahoo of Florida:
“They all work for the insane klown preznit…”
How klownservatic of them to ride a p*ssy wagon to the rose garden and suck up to the combover.
They musta wanted a glance at Ivanka.
Elijah Dominic McDotcom spews:
Last night Reichert informed the Times that he’s on board to join Hererra Beutler and #SaveLittleBilly.
That just leaves McMorris Rogers as the sole, remaining monster from Washington State voting to murder beautiful, precious, innocent, little baby Billy Kimmel.
She should be so ashamed. But she’s a hillbilly traitor. So instead she’s celebrate by toasting sparkling wine while laughing and dancing on the bones of children.

@23 Your computer is stupid, it’s not intelligent and it cannot think…
And yet it is smarter, more intelligent and thinks better than DOCTOR DUMBFUCK.
Elijah Dominic McDotcom spews:
Rohrbacher, Issa, and Hunter all took yes votes to slaughter the innocent babies.

Amongst a sea of grinning fucks at the rose garden, the most odious of which are randroid ryan and greed md price, yours truly can see a worried face here and there.
May they all face a shit storm at home.
Ekim spews:
Dave Reichert couldn’t vote for it.
Don’t believe it. SHARRUFF DAVE votes as he is told. Said so himself a few years back.
Elijah Dominic McDotcom spews:
Treasonous hillbillies like McMorris Rogers just voted to make rape a “pre-existing condition” that can cost you your healthcare.
Roger Rabbit spews:
@90 No rabbit could dream up my posts here. My computer writes them. My paws only push the keys.

Looks like there are 2 groups of CONGRESSIONAL RETHUGS.
First group think they have won something…
Second group looks like they shit their pants…
Wonder how many of either group will want to meet face to face with their
victimsconstituents when they go home.tensor spews:
I could get behind a tofu tax. It’s just a different form of hippie-punching.
In Dumbfuck World, the hippie movement was all into Japanese cuisine, because nothing reminds Dumbfuck of work-avoiding nonconformists like the Japanese do.
It's pretty revealing: Dumbfuck claims to medical knowledge, and here he is advocating a tax on one of the healthiest and least-expensive sources of protein, for no other reason than his own ignorant malice toward the supposed consumers.
(Let us guess: Dumbfuck will now inform us that taxing the poor into malnutrition was his idea of a joke. We can get behind that idea, for sure. Nothing could possibly be funnier to Dumbfuck than the prospect of hurting the innocent.)

It’s only fair. Considering how shitty they make him feel.

They musta wanted a glance at Ivanka.
Whereas you are merely dying to try on her wardrobe.
Politically Incorrect spews:
I’m beginning to realize the trolls (liberal progressives and conservatives alike) are using multiple screen names to appear to be different people.
Well, variety is the spice of life.

Nothing would give me more pleasure than seeing the entire lot of them lined up against the wall and shot. They deserve nothing less than being staked out on an ant-hill somewhere in western Texas and covered in honey.
And @ 102:
You’re prevaricating about the Obama Administration continuing an “anti-terrorist” program started under George Dubbya Bush and then mostly aimed at journalists, anti-war protesters and environmental activists while he was President?
Dude, get help. You’re visibly deteriorating even beyond what you were three years ago.
Meanwhile, in Texas.
They’re deliberately overcharging the Cop to all but guarantee an acquittal. Thats how Prosecuting Attorneys operate in Republican States. No cop in Texas has ever been successfully prosecuted for a murder when it was committed by an on-duty Police Officer.
I’m sure you’ll find some rationalization for this killing. You always do.
