I was just looking at my stats and noticed that sometime earlier today, HA recorded it’s one millionth page view since I started tracking with Site Meter back in September, 2004.
I’m not sure if this is any kind of a meaningful milestone, but I just thought I’d take the opportunity to say to all my readers out there, who for some reason keep coming back… um… thanks.

O’REILLY ENDORSES TERRORIST ATTACK AGAINST U.S. CITY
A couple days ago, Pat Robertson threatened to visit divine wrath upon Dover, PA for voting their Intelligent Design-supporting school board out of office.
Another prominent right-winger has stuck his foot in his mouth. Bill O’Reilly said “if Al Qaeda comes in here … we’re … going to say, look, every other place in America is off limits to you, except San Francisco.”
He’s pissed at that city because they banned military recruiters from their schools.
But that’s not all. O’Reilly is complaining that “far left internet smear sites have launched a campaign to get me fired … [for] encouraging terrorist attacks. Unbelievably stupid” and threatening to post “the names of all who support” these sits on his web site. Shades of Joe McCarthy waving a blank piece of paper!

I doubled the number for previous monikers. He has used Roger Rabbit for a long time–I believe for nearly 1/2 his time here.

He may well post more than 10 posts in any thread for which he comments, but that is offset by 715 threads for which he did not comment as Roger Rabbit. I estimate that 450 of these are RR using another name, so 265 posts with no RR under any name.

Of course Goldy has gone up over the past 12 months – there is only one way but up from zero.
In Sound politics peak month, it had 500,000 hits (down to 120,000 currently)
. In HorsesAss’ case, the peak month of September had 75,000 (and has dropped to 35,000 since then).
Both have trended down, but SP still has 3 times more visitors.
I do not think the overtaking of SP by Horsesass will happen any time soon, somehow.

Nope…you are misreading the last point—it only applies for 1/2 a month. Goldy can expect 60,000 to 65,000 visits for this month, continuing the overall upward trend (probably not better than the exceptional month of putting Brown down in September, but certainly much better than all months before September and a little higher than last month).

I was discussing “trend” which means looking at the long-term “performance.” Obvioulsy both blogs bounce up and down from month to month. The point I was addressuing was the trend over the last year for each blog.

Washington isn’t the only state where the Rightwing Tax Revolt suffered electoral defeats on Tuesday. Voters rejected tax rollbacks in California and Colorado, too. In Colorado, Republican governor Bill Owens campaigned against the anti-tax measure, saying it would cripple state services. Now the rightys are calling Owens a “traitor” — but nobody is listening. In California, which has been in budget crisis ever since voters passed Prop 13, voters turned a deaf ear to The Terminator’s initiative to cut state spending further. In fact, they turned a deaf ear to all seven of Schwarzenegger’s initiatives, and the GOP’s newly minted Fair Haired Boy is sinking even lower in the polls than Shrub, if that’s possible.
Several years ago, Washington voters defeated a rightwing attempt to impose a Prop. 13-style scheme on our state. Prop. 13 is one of the unfairest and most regressive taxes ever devised. It freezes property taxes at the level when the homeowner bought the house. Taxes are raised on the house when it’s sold. This results in grossly unequal taxation of similarly valued properties that discriminates heavily against the young and those least able to pay. For example, a homeowner who bought a house in 1975 for $150,000 that is now worth $1.5 million pays less property tax than a homeowner who bought a house in 2005 for $250,000, even though the first homeowner probably is older and has more income than the young homebuyer. Prop. 13 shifts taxes from the comfortably affluent to the young and struggling. Not surprisingly, the Washington initiative was floated by a homeowner enjoying life in what was then a $750,000 home (back when average middle class housing in Seattle could be purchased for about $150,000); but fortunately, Washington voters had enough sense to reject this piece of shit.
If they hadn’t, we would have the spectacle today of people living in multimillion-dollar homes paying less property tax than young people moving into starter homes.
As it is, Washington’s property taxes are not proportionate to home values. If you live in a $250,000 home, you are not paying 1/3rd as much property tax as someone living in a $750,000 home. It’s closer to half. Just look at real estate listings, which usually tell you how much the taxes are on the property.

I support equitable taxation no matter what assessment method is used. Taxes on a property with a fair market value of $750,000 should be three times as much as taxes on a property with a FMV of $250,000.
This refers, of course, to the base tax. It’s reasonable to allow (a) voters to approve local levies on top of the base tax, e.g. if they choose to pay for extra school programs, and (b) tax breaks for limited income senior citizens, so they won’t be pushed out of their homes by property taxes they can’t afford.

DAY 7—-IMPROVED TRAFFIC DUE TO GASTAX INCREASE VIGIL
I am happy to report that since the GasTax proponents got their way defeating I-912 last week that traffic this past weekend actually got worse!!!! I was in Seattle Sunday & Monday and it was gawdawful!!! I saw lots of drivers BY THEMSELVES in their politically correct little cars with their Save the Earth bumperstickers sitting in mortal gridlock on I-5 and the AWV.
I would expect the politically correct CLOWNS to set a much better example than that!!
Some of them had pro-Mass Transit and “I Love Women with Hairy Underarms” bumperstickers too!!
I love seeing the preachers of political correctness hypocritically contributing to the PROBLEM not the SOLUTION!

Mark Corallo, a spokesman for Rove, said that Rove is not the unnamed official who told Woodward about Plame and that he did not discuss Plame with Woodward.
