The Seattle Times reports that former Portland Trailblazers player Chris Dudley has a shot at being the first Republican in 23 years to win the Oregon governor’s mansion.
Huh. Maybe part of the reason why Dudley is doing so well, is that newspapers like the Times, even in a 1,200 word article, can’t find the room to report that Dudley, who rails against budget deficits, for years listed his permanent address as Washington, so as to avoid the Oregon income tax, while at the same time illegally registering his car in Oregon, so as to avoid paying Washington’s then substantial car tabs?
But I guess that’s not as interesting as the fact that a Republican might win the governor’s mansion, so never mind.

Flim, meet Flam.
There are legal penalties in the State of Washington for residents registering ones automobile outside of the State for the purpose of avoiding registration fees. Actual criminal penalties.
Questions.
Where was the car purchased?
In which State is his actual place of residence?
In which State is his place of work?
This is fairly typical of the Tealiban ideology. That any scam, any fraud, any deception is perfectly acceptable as long as it creates a source of income or an opportunity to aquire for oneself a measure of social or political power.
These neofascists, these charlatans, are so enamored of the opportunities for financial and political gain by running for political office that they cannot for the life of them, have any means of discerning for themselves any measure of actual responsibility that acquiring the office would entail. There is no sense of altruistic duty to the office or the law, it is purely personal and financial.
Schwartzeneggar is beginning to see this, he’s not a stupid man, although not very intelligent. But he realizes now that there are actual duties and responsibilities that go with the office he now holds. It is for this reason that his major financial backers in California; Jeffry Skilling, David and Charles Koch, Bruce Williamson, And the Bush family, have abandoned him and he cannot run for office again, as he is politically broke.
He came into the office on the back of a massive energy fraud, and is leaving it as quietly as he can before people start asking too many uncomfortable questions about his connections to Dynegy and Enron, in the light of the massive price fixing and manipulation scam that preceded his run for office.
So it will be with Chris Dudley. His flavor of corruption is too easily pointed out to the voting public. If he isn’t a legal resident of the State of Oregon, he is legally disqualified for running for any office there, with the exception of U.S. Senator.

Not quite as bad as DEADFISH RAHMBO in Chicago.
Deadfish rented out his house for God’s sake.
He didn’t live there within the last year.
How about that discussion Goldy?
Look, all Democrats have is sideshow issues. they cannot talk about their voting records.
Oregon is having HUGE problems as a result of excessive Progressive Spending.
Great infrastructure in Portland.
Lots of debt.
Businesses struggling & leaving.
Why not talk about what candidates will vote on to help the economy?
Why not discuss Democrats VOTING records??
Because ImamObaMao is poison to y’all!!
Richard Pope spews:
Even if Dudley lived in Washington, he was still working in Oregon, for an Oregon company — the PORTLAND Trailblazers. He still had to pay the Oregon state income tax on his salary as a basketball player. There are plenty of other people living in Clark County, Washington work on the other side of the river. All of them pay Oregon state income tax on their salaries as well.
Steve spews:
Hey, KLOWN, can you recognize a trend when you see one?
Goldy spews:
Richard @5,
He only paid income tax for the games he played in Oregon. Nothing on the away games. Similar concept to the way 26 states levy an income tax on opposing team players during their “duty days” in-state.

Thanks for pointing out that Obama is RIGHT on track matching Saint Perfect Ronald Reagan’s polling at this same point 2 years into their 1st term…and that Obama is still TWICE AS POPULAR as the psychotic nutball Republicans we just got rid of 2 years ago.
LOL LOL LOL LOL
YOUR President had the lowest approval rating (twice as bad as Obama) ever recorded…and importantly that was after 8 years…8 years to implement the policies and fix all the stuff you said you were going to do. It’s not like you haven’t had a chance to put forth you polices. You had 8 years to “secure the border”. You had 8 years to “bring down the debt” (Dick Cheney: “Deficits don’t matter”…opps). 8 years to “fix health care”. You didn’t do anything but start bogus wars, run up debt for no reason (we didn’t even GET health care out of it) and run the country into the ground. Obama and the adults (Democrats) are JUST NOW fixing the horrible mess you children (Republicans) left to us.
After 8 years of Republicans (6 in Congress) letting them implement their policies which they said would fix everything, it only got worse. If 8 years of your rule ended in the lowest approval ratings in the HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES…by comparison Obama (with Reagan’s polling numbers) is a GENIUS!
ROTFLMAO
Richard Pope spews:
Goldy @ 7
Don’t the Portland Trail Blazers train in Oregon as well? So he would have to pay state income tax to Oregon for those working days as well?
And if someone plays a game in California, they would have to pay income tax for that game to California (regardless of whether they lived in Washington or Oregon). An Oregon resident player, of course, gets a credit against Oregon state income tax for taxes paid to other states for those out-of-state games.
So basically Dudley only avoided state income taxes for those games played in Washington, Texas, Tennessee or Florida. So maybe his overall state income tax bill was reduced by 10% or 15%.
But look at the bright side. Just think of all the former Seattle Sonics players who are now generously contributing to Oklahoma’s state income tax coffers :)
Richard Pope spews:
Anyway, I looked at Chris Dudley’s website. The fellow actually has a working brain, and ideas that are not totally crazy. Probably explains why the governor’s race in Oregon is competitive for the first time in many years. At least Dudley isn’t a total nutjob like Clint Didier.
Mr. Cynically Crazy spews:
Republicans = anti-reality
Funny, Obama is a socialist who hates the free market and “everyone” knows that according to the wingnuts…everyone except Wall Street (what would they know). I’m sure he’ll take over Ford by Apple by force as soon as he’s done with his secret Kenyan plan to outlaw Christianity and when we’re done implementing the death panels (I believe they’ll be run by bigfoot, or Elvis). ROTFLMAO
Now the market reacts to a LOT of things…and is overused (like my silly joke example here) as a gauge of Presidents. But the point here is that if half way through Obama’s 1st term the market has gone up nearly 50%, it’s hard to imagine even in the most anti-reality wingnut world that he’s a socialist. He’s the opposite in fact, I wish he was more socialist. The government didn’t “take” GM for example, it bailed out a private company. It’s selling off all the stocks they bought to bail out these companies AND at a profit…what is MORE capitalist that THAT!? :)
Stock Market under Bush:
Jan 2000: 11,200
Jan 2008: 8,000 (bottomed at 6,600 a few weeks later)
Stock Market under Obama:
Jan 2008: 8,000
Oct 2010: 11,900

“The stated intent of the so-called stimulus package was to create jobs, and certainly a $57 million slush-fund studying projects did nothing to achieve that goal. With Ohio’s unemployment rate the highest it’s been in 25 years, I’m pleased that federal officials stepped in to order Ohio to use all of its construction dollars for shovel-ready projects that will create much-needed jobs.” John Boener, voted no on the stimulous and in consecutive sentences says the stimulus DIDN’T and DID create jobs. Run on that vote?
“Now that the stimulus bill is the law of the land, Congressman Cantor supports high-speed rail in Virginia to help create the environment for tens of thousands of new jobs,” press release, Eric Cantor (R) So which is it? The Stimulous doesn’t creat jobs or using stimulous money to build rail transit in your state will create jobs?
“I am pleased The U.S. Department of Transportation has chosen to award $35 million for the North Spokane Corridor. This is precisely the type of project the government should be funding.” Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) Voted no on the stimulus bill from which the money originated.
Run on that record Republicans. Nah…we’ll go with Freedom! Muslim! Ground Zero Mosque!

Oh, and the Naked Cowboy has announced he is running for President in 2012.
The problem is, with these folks joining the Tea Party circuit of Palin, O’Donnel, Paul, and the like, it even starts to make New Gingrinch look like a serious candidate in comparison.

All they care about is lining their pockets with other people’s money and, when they need a diversion from golddigging and moneygrubbing, fucking other men’s wives for the sheer fun of it. Broadway Joe spews:
Duds was a JailBlazer (though it was during the final two seasons of his career, and his second stint in Portland) and his primary offense was aggravated assualt against NBA baskets – he hit them far too often taking free throws (lifetime 45.8% average at the line). BTW, one of his campaign’s primary sugardaddies is Nike CEO Phil Knight.
